Clean, comfortable, convenient My son and I spent a couple days in Downtown LA. While the surrounding area may make people who aren't used to downtown areas (street people, etc.) uneasy, we found the hotel to be a nice oasis, within a short walk of Union Station (we were traveling on Amtrak), and close to the Metro and many attractions. The hotel is a bit dated, but our room was clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet. There's an outdoor garden that was nice, but needs a little TLC. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're there during the week, make sure you visit the nearby City Hall, which has a free open-air 27th floor observation deck. We found the surrounding area safe. Just pay attention to your surroundings and you'll do fine. (Grand Central Market at Broadway & Third is a ten-minute walk and full of great-looking dining choices. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast there at a place called Eggslut!)

Kind staff, clean atmosphere, good price. This hotel is in the middle of it all, I’ve stayed here before and I’ll stay here again. Jennifer greeted me with a warm smile and helped me with a diamond upgrade without having to think twice. It’s safe to say the second I arrived at this hotel for my second visit my expectations were exceeded. The three customer service encounters I had today were really good, if you’re looking for a place to stay in downtown the Doubletree is reasonably priced and very clean.

Avoid or regret. Terrible Hotel and management Hotel website showed King Bed room has 2 chairs but when I checked in there is only one chair, so I went to the front desk asked one more chair, the management refused to provide a chair, so I showed the pictures of room description which has 2 chairs. The management said that those description is old. And the room old and sewage smell from bathroom. I reported it to the front desk but there is no action. Buttons on elevators are not working properly, it is concern of safety. This hotel management is deceptive under the name of Double Tree by Hilton. I don't believe that this 2 stars hotel bears the name under Hilton. I called the customer service in Hilton Honor but they suggested to report the hotel management. It is a really bad hotel and bad business practice by this hotel management. It is not Double Tree Hotel we know.

Do not stay here Overall, poorly unkept hotel. I always stay in Hilton’s and this on definitely needs some attention. The elevators were dark and not up to standard, the room was hot and AC doesn’t feel like it works, the shower was gross with holes, and the bathroom vent look like it was peeling from mold. Wouldn’t recommend. Also the service wasn’t good. Concierge was snippy, and bar tender was non attentive.

Poor This hotel is in an interesting area of Los Angeles: close to Downtown, and right next to the fascinating area of "Little Tokyo". Unfortunately, the hotel is far less interesting and is in need of a fair bit of maintenance. Everything is dated and in some places, very tatty. For example, at the elevators, the glass around the call buttons was broken on our floor and in the lobby and various of the indicator lights were broken. Everything just looked faded and unkempt. At least our room was clean and tidy. Not up to the usual standards of a Hilton. (Take a look at my Travel Photos blog on Instagram at @iPhonePhotoTravel)
