WONDERFULLY RELAXING VERMONT This summer we spent the last week of July at the Jackson Gore Inn with our son and Grandsons. We had traded our week at The Bay Voyage for this in August 2023. Check in was really quick and easy. We were assigned to Units 417/419, a two bedroom suite with a loft, which actually slept 10. There was plenty of room for all of us, the two boys slept in the second bedroom – and they each had their own queen bed, their Dad had the loft – with another queen bed, and we had the Master – with a king, the couch also pulled out and slept two – but no one used that. We parked in the garage directly underneath, which was very convenient, and the elevator brought us right up. The unit was furnished with most everything you might need. Two things that came to mind that would’ve been appreciated, were a tea kettle in the kitchen, and a grab bar in the showers – the tubs were so slippery, you were constantly afraid of falling. Even though I always bring small suction mats for the bathtubs when we travel, they didn’t help a whole lot – a safety grab bar across the back would’ve given peace of mind. Even tho our son could only spend the weekend with us, we made the best of it. We took them all out to Killarneys Irish Pub on Saturday night, where some of his friends met us, and we all had a wonderful meal, After he left, we had the boys for the remainder of the week, and ate out twice more, at Off The Rails, and the Coleman Brook Tavern – right in the resort. The rest of the time we ate in the unit. The boys swam every day, and I think they really enjoyed themselves. We all needed this vacation, it was such a nice break. Everyone we met from front desk to housekeeping was so really nice and friendly, and couldn’t do anything more to be helpful.

Nice location, average accommodation We had a king bed room with a parking lot view. The room was fine but dated, decently large but would have preferred a Mountain View. The bathroom was big but had a small stall shower. My biggest complaint was that there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Parking was available in outside lot or underground garage. We appreciated the guest only beverage center for coffee beverages and water ( plain , sparkling and flavored) . The gym is well equipped but in a separate building with the outdoor pool. Breakfast was available in the Coleman Brook Tavern with outside or inside seating. We were there in the summer and lunch was not available during the week other than a taco stand. We enjoyed the live music and the fire pit area. Overall, was underwhelmed with the property for the price.

Great Experience We were very pleased with our stay. We ski Okemo in the winter and love the mountain. This is the first we've stayed in the area. Some of the other reviews are disappointing to read and sound very entitled. The area was flooded in Summer 2023 and people are complaining about things not being open or available during that time frame. Yah - there was a natural disaster weeks/months earlier that took out many businesses and greatly impacted the area. We found that much of the town was open during our visit (May 2024) and there were plenty of options for food (Goodman's American Pie was great!). We were made aware by the Inn prior to our arrival (via an "About your upcoming Stay" email) that the local grocery store was preorder only, so we were able to prepare by stopping along the way and bringing our own groceries. Those that are complaining about the laundry service - it's become the norm for hotels not to offer daily turndown service, I've seen this everywhere for years now. It's much more environmentally conscious not to have your towels refreshed every day. We found that it was quick and easy to tie up our trash bag and throw it down the trash chute, then ask for another trash bag to put in the bin ourselves, not a big deal. We also greeted the housekeeping staff when we saw them in the halls and were able to ask for the extra items we needed. Being friendly and appreciative of the people who are serving you goes a long way! For those complaining about a small room with no fridge, microwave, tables, counter space, etc. Did the listing say that was in the room? No? Then why do you expect it? If you need a kitchen, book the room that has a kitchen. We had no complaints about the size of the TV in our room, which seems to be a common theme. And those that expect streaming services to be available......what? That is not a common offering in hotels. We did not feel that the hotel was run down, nor were there any need for renovations, it wasn't built 3 years ago but it's also not in bad shape at all. It was no big deal to have to walk "aLl ThE wAy dOwN tHe HalL" to the North Side elevator to get to the lobby when needed, and we found it very convenient to get to/from our room on the South Side through the guest entrance near the First Aid office. The front desk, facilities, and pool staff were friendly and helpful to us as well. If you're looking to be waited on hand and foot, then yes, choose other accommodations; but if you're easy going, and not high maintenance, Jackson Gore will work for you. We look forward to returning to Jackson Gore Inn in the future.

Location location, but the price! We stayed 2 night on Easter weekend. The highlights were the location & the staff - these overshadow any limitations. The cons were that there's no room upkeep even at the high price point. And the lobby level (and access to the ski lift) can apparently only be accessed by the central elevators. So there's a long walk if you parked underneath your room on the south side. There are lots amenities and lot of families to keep kids happy. Overall vibe was good.

Disappointing service. Very disappointing. The hotel/inn offers terrible service. Everything is slow. And you get a lot of conflicting information from staff. For instance, when we arrived for an 8-day stay, they informed us that we need to call if we would like to have the room cleaned. Today, I asked for cleaning for the next day. I was told that “avail” decided after Covid that it was “more profitable” not to clean the rooms. Sure it is. But at the same time this is unacceptable. We stay for seven nights and they refuse to clean the room and bathroom— really? Don’t come here if you have better options. I won’t be back, and I will tell everyone.
