Dilapidated facility Pros - Staff we encountered during our stay were very kind and helpful. The beds were comfortable though the pillows are half the normal size for some reason. Despite some louder neighbors, we could not hear them in our room which was impressive. Cons- Pool was closed. Room carpets are disgusting and other elements of the room have clearly been unkept for quite some time. No toilet paper holder. Tiny trash can in the room and no trash can in the hallway. We like to clean up after ourselves, but we were unable to because of nowhere to put our small amount of trash. I would choose a different place to stay next time. Any hospitality business could do a better job at keeping up with wear and tear on their facility.

NO, NO, NO! Keep going! Disgusting! Do NOT stay here. Filthy dirty. I would not remove my shoes and slept with my clothes on. We made a rash decision to stay here on our trip to SC. Country Inn and Suites are generally nice, right? WRONG! I normally check reviews, but we were tired, soooooo. Ranks in the top 3 WORST hotels we ever stayed in.

WORST EVER DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT STAY HERE. After 11 hours on the road we spent the night here, checked in late, put our stuff in the room and left to get something to eat. Came back and I took a shower to a yellow ring around the tub and the prior guest dirty wash cloth hanging on the shower curtain. Next morning we get up and my daughter was going to get what she thought was a hair dryer from the shelf under the sink only to find again prior guest shirt and underwear. So we decided to look around opened cabinet beside the fridge to find all this open food. Found a bag of Bugels above where you hang your clothes and hair balls everywhere. Go to check out and gave our complaint to the clerk who was going to have the manager call us. Well it’s now the 12th of November no call, no follow up from the email or 2nd follow up call. At we found it the night before we would have immediately checked out. We want to get our money back but they DO NOT CALL back or address the concern.

You get what you pay for. When I checked into my room I noted that it reeked of mildew. From a previous stay at the same hotel, I know that the area was recently flooded due to water main leak. From the smell, It's obvious the management did nothing to clean the first floor rooms. The hotel is at best a 2 star establishment. The breakfast was mediocre at best. On my earlier stay they offered a tasty sausage with the breakfast, but during my second visit they substituted the sausage for gravy. I'm sure many of the guests love biscuits and gravy, but providing the additional option of sausages would have been a good option. The towels were rough and dingy and the bathroom tiles were cracked. The major negative was the non functioning pool. To the best of my knowledge it's been out of action for the last 3 months. Now for the positives. The hotel is centrally located along Highway 95 and parking is good. The hotel staff were friendly and quite helpful. The rates are reasonable. I stayed here twice, but I doubt I will stay a third time. Again, you get what you pay for.

On top of feeling miserable and a very long day, this hotel added to the misery index I would be remiss if I did not voice a very bad experience with this hotel. Returning back to Florida after the burial of my mother, via I 95 on Saturday 8/12/23, as a Choice member I used Choice Hotels website. I chose to stay in Lumberton as a half way point. A few days prior to traveling, reserved and prepaid for a room for two. We were running late due to errands in NYC and traffic along the way to North Carolina. We finally arrived at the hotel at 4 AM. We were told that the hotel was full and that we were the 4th couple with reservations that had to be turned away. The front desk clerk said that nearby was a Comfort Inn. Traveled to the Comfort Inn, paid for the night and slept a few hours. Called Sunday morning 8/13 the hotel and Choice Reservations customer care. After a few days of going back and forth, I got a full refund from Country Inn. Choice Hotels apologized for the mix up, but to add insult to injury, we did get an email from Country Inn, thanking us for our stay with them and hoping to see us again in the future.
