A great place to stay in Shenandoah! We had a great stay in Skyland. The location is superb and the room (we stayed in premium room) was very clean and equipped with all required amenities. The staffs were very courteous. The on-site restaurant was also very good. Although the options were limited but considering the location it was just fine and the food was very tasty. Overall highly recommended place.

Spectacular views Amazing park filled with wondrous vistas and a breathtaking Skyline Drive. Rented a cabin that was way too rustic for us but upgraded to a better room and were very satisfied. It does get a little damp out there in the woods and the cabin had a distinct mildewy smell. the upgraded room -- mid level -- was nice but still had a trace of mustiness. Perhaps not as nice as a comparably priced hotel but it's right in the park and has a lot to offer: Lots of activities; Front desk was super nice and accommodating as was hotel restaurant staff; Definitely have the blackberry ice cream for dessert -- you won't soon forget it. Not only is this place a natural wonder but it makes you proud to know it is part of our national park system and is treated with such loving care.

Cute and cozy! We spent one night here while in Shenandoah. It was a cute, retro cabin - which we love! Basic but comfortable. It was quiet. Restaurant close by. Wish we had more time. Fire was in the area at the time so visibility was affected. Definitely recommend!

Room with a View and Birds, too The main attraction at Skyland is the view. We had an upstairs room at Raven's Roost with a vista off the balcony. Beautiful! The room had been renovated, so the bathroom was modern with standard hotel-type amenities. We especially appreciated the in-room Keurig with Starbucks coffee pods. AC did go off and on a bit, but it wasn't that noisy. The neighbors were noisier than the AC, though. Thank goodness they went to sleep early, like us. Highly recommend going up the easy trail to the peak of Stony Man. Awesome view for not a lot of work. But of course it's quite popular. I did some birding in the area. The easiest birds to see are the hawks and other raptors soaring near the drop-off. Saw a Blue-hooded Vireo and a Black and White Warbler on the Stony Man trail. Lots of Bluebirds and Cedar Waxwings on the resort property. I'm sure the entire Skyline Drive is hopping with migratory birds in spring and fall. I may have to come back then.

First family trip at Skyland Since I was a little girl, my family has always taken drives to skyline drive to see the leaves changing and to take a few hikes. Now that I have a family of my own we decided to stay at skyland for a few nights. We aren’t campers, so we thought skyline drive would be a good fit for us. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The room was much nicer than I expected and we enjoyed our time staying there. There was a playground near our room which was great for the kids, the restaurant was close by and delicious. And nothing could beat the evening sunset views.
