Bayside Hotel of Mackinac

Dirty and Moldy This hotel is full of black mold, see pictures. It’s dirty and very outdated. They don’t change the sheets on the bed or clean the rooms. There was food and dirt over the floor. When we complained about the mold, they said they would clean it but it was embedded in the walls.

Bugs in room stay away The sheets were stained, the pool is nasty and rust stains. The power outlets had wholes, bugs in room and lobby, blinds broken, door handles broken shower head had mold this place is terrible should be inspected by the health department the employees including manager do not wear uniform or presentable attire.

Horrible customer service If I can give zero star I would! Horrible! There is no customer service what so ever! Front desk never picks up the phone because there is only 1 person working so she lets the phone rings non stop. If you need anything, you have to walk to the front desk to ask. You have to request housekeeping if not they don’t come clean. Even if you request it, at 5pm they still hasn’t come clean the room because they are prioritizing cleaning the rooms that customers checking in at 4pm. Yes you read it right, they haven’t clean the rooms at 5pm even they say the check in is at 4pm. And if you are current customers want to put kids to rest, you are screwed because you have no idea what time those housekeepers are coming to your room. You need extra towels or anything? Go to the front desk yourself and ask and bring it up yourself! Water pressure is so low that I had to remove the shower head in order to shower properly. Internet sucks! Barely works. Room smells bad, you can’t open window to air out. Carpet on the floor is gross. DO NOT stay here. Super run down!

Dirty, nothing works, mice in rooms! Run and don't stop until you find a decent hotel. The only good thing about this Motel were the ladies at the front desk. We were on a bus trip with 35 persons. We got there and not all rooms were ready, but they had them done in about 15 minutes. Upon entering our room, we noticed no phone no chair to sit in at desk. We went out to desk to find that no one had a chair to sit in and those that had phones they weren't working. We were told the place was being renovated and new chairs had been ordered but not come in. We were given chairs from the dining area since that was closed, and you had to go a couple of blocks to another location for breakfast. There seemed to be no one available to fix the phones so a gentleman from our group fixed most of them for our group. The building looked and smelt dirty, there was mold on the bathroom walls and pink slimy mold on the bathroom floor around the toilet. The next tragedy was that all the toilets started clogging in most people's rooms. When the maintenance man finally got to our room it was after midnight and the plunger had a plastic bag around it that when used a lot of flying insects came flying out of it, then we dealt with dead bugs on the bathroom floor and not getting our showers until after 12:30. One of our group had a mouse in their room which was the icing on the cake. Stay away from this nasty place, our tour company should be ashamed of booking a place like this .

Unpleasant stay We stayed here over memorial day weekend. The staff was pleasant. however, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, hair on our towels, went to turn the heat on and it produced a funky smell, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Looked to be an old building that needs some updating.
