Clarion Hotel Beachfront

Incredible views. The view of the lake was very pretty even in winter. Hotel was easy to get to. I loved the spacious feel of the room and the older style furniture. It was very clean. Breakfast wasn't great but decent enough to fill a need; could have used more variety. Still 5 stars though for the view, space, and cleanliness.

Gross Gross! Dirty, mystery stains on mattress, smelled, exposed wires and cobwebs in bathroom vents which had no covers, peeling wallpaper, worn carpet with carpet tacks exposed! Very dangerous! Slept with socks on. Told staff at the front desk and all they would do is make a "note" of it. Room 111 beware! They need to be reported to the health department.

BEWARE! My wife and I stayed in a lakefront room. Getting to the room was very difficult as the elevator does not go the actual floor. It goes to a "walkway" between two buildings which then requires you to carry your luggage either up or down a set of stairs to your floor. Very difficult and very poor design! The elevator, especially the carpeted floor was filthy and quite obvious that it had not seen a vacuum in many months. Our lakefront room looked like it was my Grandmothers old house. Not modern at all. Walls, ceilings and carpeting are old and dark. Carpet looks like it hasn't been replaced in 40 years. The bathroom was updated and fairly modern but not much of a compensation for how old the rest of the room was. The furniture was very, very old and worn, with inside padding showing through. Furniture looked to be 40 years old or more. Bed was comfortable and seemed clean. Breakfast was a joke. Two days of the exact same Luke warm food. No warm cooked eggs. Only cold hard boiled eggs. Same "warm" ham slices both days. No bacon or sausage. Packaged muffins. Very poor choices. I would blame myself if I had chosen this place because it was less expensive than similar hotels in the area but it was not. Staff was friendly but it seemed they had no formal hospitality training and were "winging" it. If you choose to stay here, God bless ya!

Clarion Nightmare at Mackinaw City Terrible experience. Find a different place. Staff is rude and no help. Pool green not usable was told to use any other hotels pool they wont mind but they refused us early check out or refund. Booked for 5 night and could not take the filth so move after 2 night lost alot of money because they did not deliver what was promised when booking and no effort from staff to correct. Will be contacting corporate this is.not the Clarion experience we have.had elsewhere.

Quick Getaway Quick Getaway. Great price. Friendly Staff. Clean Room. Did not use pool or partake in breakfast. Nice shower, extremely hot so that was nice. Room was very clean. Parking was close and convenient. Motel was close to main city and main highways.
