Worst stay of our lives! DO NOT STAY HERE! This was the worst hotel experience of our lives, and we have traveled in every single USA state. The rooms were out dated, dirty and one full of flying bugs. The night front desk person was in our room vacuuming bugs off the ceiling while I sat in my night clothes on the bed. When I went to the front desk the next morning to show them what we had endured and cancel another booked date two days later things escalated quickly. Michelle became combative, loud and accusatory; She told my husband he was a hater and ordered me away from the counter after giving me a number of a manager I could call. The manager was no help. I wish we had read the reviews prior to booking. When we returned two days later Michelle was bent on continuing to be rude and antagonistic toward my husband. She is lucky he decided to take the high road and not give back to her what she was giving him. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS HOTEL AND STAFF.

The literally takemthe food away from you at 9 am even if u were in line before 9....they try and feed 2 entire hotels in 1 small room. We stayed here years ago and its gone way downhill. Buyer beware.

Don't Spend Your Money Here! My recent stay at The Hamilton Inn left much to be desired. Despite being one of the priciest options in town, the hotel fell far short of expectations, starting with its outdated and poorly maintained facilities. Small details compounded the disappointment: vending machines were empty, and we encountered a dead fly in one of our beds. The free breakfast was subpar. Overall cleanliness was lacking, making our "suite" — essentially two connected rooms with no windows in one — feel claustrophobic and dingy and the bathrooms were dirty exhibiting signs of mold. The hotel advertises one of the only hotels with a beach, but it’s very small. The hose to clean off the sand was broken so the first-floor entryway was covered in sand. The hallways and rooms exuded a musty odor. When we checked out there was a family that was complaining of a fly infestation in their room. The pool was okay, albeit small, but the waterpark (that’s located at another hotel with the same owner) was poorly maintained. The kids still had fun, and while the indoor waterpark was small it still had potential. However, one of the walking bridges was broken, there were numerous broken floor tiles with sharp edges, they ran out of towel, etc. While most staff members were pleasant, our experience was marred by a particularly rude manager. Furthermore, discovering the near-monopoly ownership of the area, which limited dining and activity choices, added to our disappointment. It’s frustrating that the City allows this kind of monopoly, and all of the businesses owned by the same family have gone downhill (as we have heard from locals). I would advise prospective travelers to spend your hard-earned money elsewhere like nearby St. Ignace, as our stay here did not live up to its price tag or description.

Unbelievable I can understand why this property has such awful reviews. Lisa is the rudest person I have EVER had to deal with. Literally, she would not respond to my questions. When I asked for the general manager she told me she WAS the manager. Must be really hard to have staff with customer service skills when your manager has none. Lisa argued with me and then hung up on me. When I called back someone picked up the phone and hung up. I have been in the resort business since the early 90’s. That girl is in the wrong business.

BEWARE! I booked a room at the Hamilton Inn in Mackinac City MI to follow stay at Mackinac Island. Photos of beach and hotel looked nice. Arrived early around 1pm. Staff rudely said check in time was 4pm. Walked around the property and found it to be in poor condition. The building outside looked like it had not been maintained in many years. The decks had exposed concrete with very visible green mold. The beach furnishing were strewn about and were very poor condition plastic that should have been discarded years prior. Not one person on the beach on a beautiful sunny day. Walked the entire first floor and smelled musty and observed a repairman bringing in blue mold mitigation circulation fans. At this point I got a horrible feeling for the hotel. I went to the front desk and told them I could not stay here due to the poor conditions I had observed. They refused to release me from my obligation or give a refund. This was at approximately 130pm with a 4 pm check in time. I did not enter a room or care to due to my observations. I was told to call their corporate office to seek a refund. I was told by them that they would not refund me. Again, I did not end up staying here so the rooms may be fine. But everything else I saw here led me to not want to stay. So I basically got charged approximately $330 for nothing. Hence my warning - BEWARE.
