Tried to charge 1000 I stayed here with my dogs and kids, early July because we have family that lives in madera. During the morning we left, my 2 year old and I decided to take a shower, we had a handicap room so there were no shower lips to keep water in. Water flooded the entry way and some of the carpet in the hallway. Maintenance came, checked it out, I helped them clean up the mess. About an hour after leaving I get over 1000 that was trying to be charged to my card. When I contacting them I got a horrible email back, spouting lies and then Eric, tried to charge me another 100 today, 3 weeks after the incident. Luckily I caught them trying to steal my money but after reading all the horrible reviews, it seems like they make most of their money by extra charges! Stay away from owners like Eric!

Toilets not working Toilet stopped working. I was asked to use their public bathroom instead of offering a different room. Like other hotels they don’t clean their room daily and if you need towels you’ll have to go to reception to get them.

Great Property, shady billing practices Be warned. Very nice property, but undisclosed surprise fee at check-in for a bogus "deposit". Allegedly to be refunded, but so far not. Shady practice from a fee structure perspective, so cannot recommend in any manner.

Pricing/esperience Upon my arrival on July 2,2021 I got a 2 night stay from the 2nd to the 4th of July of 2021 and I been to many hotels of this standard so I was charged $390 for a single standard room for two nights plus a $50 dollar fee from my first day to my last I noticed people coming in who I had doubt would be willing to pay such a price for a night (this was just a personal opinion ) so I asked 9 diffent people how much they are paying for a single night,and if they had Advanced reservations or discounts most said they were walk ins like myself and they all said diffent priced but all very lower prices then I had payed .in fact I didn't meet one person who payed the exact same price I payed .so when I asked the lobbyist/and clearly at the front off about the big difference in price rages they said this motel in a competitive motel so we never have a set price and prices flexuate and change .I asked how often and they just made a poor excuse and couldn't really give a good reason and I was highly upset at this hotel and the games they played. I understand you pay for good quality hotels and I'm aware of the services this hotel offers but they charge indivuals on a flawed system and in my opinion based on who walks in to there hotel appearanceand dress code wise and or personal favoritism . I will never be going back to any la quinta hotels again while I'm out traveling and I would encourage others to think twice about using this hotel . There's alot of other similar quality hotels who will not play games and wil treat everybody fair and equal regardless of there appeancea or how there dressed or the type of car they pull in with ... Sparkling clean, great bed This hotel was such a pleasant surprise. We were traveling northbound and ended up in the town of Madera. Booked a room pretty last minute. It was super clean with nice tile floors in the bath. There were plenty of TV options and the bed was great! We heard a few trains but that was no big deal. Breakfast was a microwaved Jimmy Dean sandwich. They rotate the hot breakfast daily. Many places have stopped breakfast due to COVID so this was better than nothing. Staff was friendly. Compared to the dump we stayed in the following night for the same price, this was really a fair deal.
