We really enjoyed our stay We had room 6 at this friendly B&B, the room looked out over some pine trees at the back of the building. There was an armchair, a table with 2 chairs, a very comfortable king size bed with side tables and sockets for charging. The room also had a toaster oven, a fridge and freezer (quiet) and a microwave and a worktop with a sink. No tea or coffee making but my wife microwaved water to make tea and I went to reception where there was always a coffee pot on the go. The bathroom had a separate sink area with room for all your bits and pieces and a bath with a shower. The shower had the best water pressure I found in our many days of travelling. It didn’t quite knock you across the bathroom but was powerful! We loved it, after lots of driving it was a relief to feel really clean. My ocd detected some interesting diy attempts but they were endearing rather than annoying! There was no a/c but it wasn’t necessary, the room has large sliding windows with bug screens and there was a nice breeze coming through the room. There is also an outside door leading done some steps to the side alley. Best not to have this open at night as there is bear activity in the area. Breakfast is in the main reception area. There are several tables as well as 2 sofas with tables. It is billed as simple but it’s really more than that. I was so pleased they had a creamy fat free yoghurt and granola which suited me perfectly. There was bread and a toaster, butter, peanut butter (of course) and a couple of hot stainless steel things with lids (I forget what they are called) with scrambled eggs and hash browns. Two filter coffee pots with proper coffee and hot water for tea. It was lovely, after spending time in 4-5 star hotels where you sit in a stuffy dining room and have to order off a menu, this was a refreshing change. For dinner we walked a very short distance to the Pizza and Tap which has a wide range of local beers on tap and good food. There is also a sports bar and grill but it was too noisy for us. There is also a row of shops which include a coffee shop. This is a place run by young people who are doing a great job. I imagine its a snowboarders heaven in the winter. There are two new buildings to the side of the building which will add capacity.

High price Holiday Rate in a low rent room It was the MLK weekend on a Saturday night so we were limited on availability for a short notice ski trip so this was one of the lowest price places at 345 dollars a night for the standard king room. So, as you could guess this room is normally like 135 to 150 dollars a night and at that lower price it would have been acceptable. The main heater did not work so a space heater was provided and the walls are super thing so you could feel the parents pain in the next room with the toddler that kept everyone up all night crying. I would say if you can stay for the regular rate it’s doable but at 350 a night try elsewhere!

Once was enough Timing is everything, so I guess it was off when I stayed here. I was attracted by the website advertising how quiet and comfy it was. The construction in the lot made it very noisy by day and the guests in the next room made it noisy by night. Comfy wasn’t working for me either with the heater being out due to the construction cutting the power, this was explained to me by management and they would be by later to bring a heater. So I tried the jacuzzi to warm up but it was too cold. The location in town and the free parking were the two best parts. Not planning on a return visit.

Good lodge for a quick stay A cute, older lodge that was fine for a one night stay traveling through California. Continental type breakfast was basic with cereal, toast, grilled cheese, but had hot scrambled eggs. Lobby was nice (and decorated for Christmas) and the room was clean and comfortable. However, here's the bad: Although it was a non-smoking room, it reeked of a strong weed smell that would not go away. The gas flaming stove heater kicked on once, but we could never get it to come back on again. Hot water took forever to get hot and it seemed the hot water ran out quickly, so I had to cut the shower short. And it had very low shower head for a 6ft tall person. Otherwise all else was fine.

Needs Some Maintenance The location was good, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was very good. But it is a cute, but rundown hotel. The internet didn't work in our room, we could not set the water temperature in the shower (it was either cold or way too hot), and there was usually no hot water in the sink. The microwave didn't work because the outlet was defective, and the gas stove/ heater didn't work. If they could do some major maintenance, it would be a great place to stay.
