Well below average, but not awful Spent a total of nine hours in the hotel. Beds and bedding were good. On a Monday night, it was quiet. Woke up to find water leaking from AC unit onto luggage. Bathtub drain did not drain. L during showers. Several lights did not work. Th remote some times worked, sometimes didn’t. Well below average experience.

Definitely Not the Best Be forewarned, this hotel is inconsistent at best. Parts of it were dingy, grimy, and had off smells here and there. The room phone didn’t work, the bathroom had some problems, which I had to “fix” myself because there was no maintenance person available until after midnight, and the tattered shade on the window was broken so I couldn’t let in any outside light - which might’ve been purposeful so I couldn’t see the rundown furnishings. The elevators were filthy and did not feel safe - inspection date expired that month. Online, it says the hotel is in the process of renovation. There were indications of some sporadic improvements and some cool design elements, but overall, they have a long way to go. To be fair, the bedding was crisp and clean and the beds/pillows comfortable. There appeared to be new flooring in the room and the bathroom fixtures were new as well, although the water pressure was highly inefficient, and the drain plug got stuck. Mostly, the attitude of the staff and management was horribly off-putting. There’s a definite need for additional training and some brushing-up on what being in the hospitality business really means. My first night there, the fire alarm malfunctioned and sounded seven times between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. It was BRUTAL! I asked for some sort of compensation for the most miserable night I’ve ever spent in a hotel and met with a curt, “… we don’t do that.” When booking my reservation online, I suffered all sorts of confusion, and had to add a day because the reservation didn’t pick up my last date. Then, Expedia somehow defaulted to additional dates the following week, which I caught and thought I had successfully canceled, but the hotel still charged me, which I found out later when it appeared in my bank account. Expedia was very helpful and canceled the charges and contacted the hotel accordingly. I found out later that the charges remained on my account and the hotel had ignored Expedia’s email. Multiple calls to the hotel, asking for a manager, were placed on at least a 10-minute hold before I gave up. I had to call five times before I finally said, “Do not place me on hold and I’d like to speak to a manager.” Finally, spoke to someone who was rude and abrupt. I explained I wanted my refund issued and she then placed me on hold without asking or telling me. She eventually returned to the call and said it would be credited to my account upon approval. I asked her name, and she quickly hung up on me. I’m still waiting for the refund. I’m not sure what is causing such difficulty with this hotel, but with so many others to choose from, take my advice and steer clear. Perhaps, over time, the improvements will be made, but they need a solid manager in place, and some serious staff attitude adjustments. Had it not been such a late hour, and after having had a particularly problematic journey, I certainly would’ve continued looking.

Fire alarms, fire trucks and water damage!! Fire alarms from 1-3 a.m. maybe a bit later. Two fire trucks two different times. Being outside in the rain because they couldn’t turn them off. And a bubble forming on the ceiling and leaking water.
