Unprofessional and unethical Our stay at your hotel was the worst stay at a Hilton that I have experienced. I will now take the time to detail the reasons for this. Unprofessional - Two points on this. Firstly, I spoke to the manager on duty 3 times regarding checking out a day early. She assured me that I would be refunded for the final night upon check-out. A week later, my refund requests have been ignored and I have not received a refund. Secondly, I have emailed this and the points below to the manager and have not received a reply. The Welcome - A Hilton Hotel welcome is friendly and professional. We love the Hilton cookie on arrival. We know when we stay at a Hilton Hotel, the room will be thoroughly clean with all the ammenities we could need. Unfortunately, our welcome was not to this standard. We arrived late after a delayed flight and although our welcome was professional, it was certainly not friendly - the desk clerk acted as if we had interrupted his sporting viewing. We did not receive a cookie and only one key. When we arrived at the room, it was clean but I had to get out my own hand-soap as there was no hand-soap provided. In fact, there were not ammenities (other than the large bottles) in our room at all requiring me to go to the front desk and ask for shower caps. Comfort- A Hilton Hotel is well maintained, comfortable and we can feel safe and secure. Unfortunately, on our second day, we were trapped in the elevator. This awful experience was compounded by the fact that our son had diarrhoea and we were racing back to our room from dinner to tidy this up. We called from the elevator 3 times to request updates throughout the 40 minutes of being trapped and never once were told what was happening. When we finally emerged with the police and the fire department present, at no time did anyone from the hotel ask if we were okay. We were treated as if nothing had happened. Our youngest son is traumatised and continues to be panicked every time he has to get in the elevator. Cleaning - A Hilton Hotel is well cleaned and tidy. Whilst we appreciate the desire to reduce costs and environmental impact by not having the rooms cleaned every day, at no time were we told that we needed to sign-up for room cleaning. We discovered this by accident when we did not put out the ‘no cleaning required’ door sign for the evening prior and tried to stay out of the room all day (to allow the cleaners to clean) only to find that, by 4.30pm, the room was still not cleaned. I went down to the front desk to enquire and was then told about the sign-ups. Unfortunately, there was only one cleaning slot left; 8am the following day. Thus, we woke the kids early, got them dressed and headed out before 8am. When we arrived back to the room at 9.30am, it was still not cleaned. Again, I approached the front desk. They were apologetic, made a call and we were told that the cleaners were on their way. So we headed out again. As you can see, the 3 reasons listed above are a clear indication that the Hotel MdR Marina Del Rey DoubleTree Hilton is not of standard and, I have to say, I regret booking this stay. We could have stayed somewhere for a lower price and closer to the beach with better service. Despite having a plethora of great experiences at Hilton Hotels, this experience has made me think twice about booking a stay with any Hilton Hotel in the future. It was our final stay of a month-long trip in the US and we had been looking forward to recharging, knowing that, because of the Hilton reputation, everything would be taken care of. That was not our experience.

Perfect location and very comfortable hotel We had not stayed here in a while and were a little concerned after reading some reviews. Fortunately are experience was very positive , and don’t understand some of the criticisms. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the room clean and well appointed We opted not to have daily service but did change towels every day . The breakfast was buffet, and while it could have been more extensive was adequate. I think fresh fruit should always be available The breakfast area is very attractive , indoors and out and overlooks the pool area. The pool area is attractive with a ping pong table and bean bag game The location is great, close to airport, shopping, restaurants and Venice beach. We will stay here again on our next trip.

The Hotel MDR was amazing! The enviroment, staff and rooms were excellent and very clean and comfortable. The Hotel MDR was amazing! The enviroment, staff and rooms were excellent and very clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and had games and chairs to entertain and relax. There are many great resturaunts nearby, but the food options inside the hotel was great if needed. The ability to check in online and digital keys were easy to use and made it super convient. Super happy with my experience at the Hotel MDR. Would recommend and will stay there again soon!!

Resolved:) Our previous review of the issues with the television were resolved by engineer Steve. All in all, this is a wonderful hotel right on the marina. Thank you to the front desk. Alexis was especially helpful as was the bar staff.great location!

Don't trick by stars. All details are very poor. This is the one of the worst hotel with this price ever. I can not believe they have 4 stars. Location is great, but garbage location next door, and track come and go 5am every day. Looks great out side, bar,pool and gym. But nothing else. They won't change towels unless you are asking for. Amenity was empty. I had to ask 4 times to fill. Shower door is not be shut. They asked me to bring all trash out from the room my self. This is the MOTEL serice. Usually Double tree has large room. It is not for this hotel. They charge a good amount of money, and + parking. I will never ever come and stay this hotel.
