Refused to issue refund for prepaid room We booked a 1 night stay at Oyo Memphis through Hotels.com and prepaid the room. When we arrived on 11/7 we were informed that there was a plumbing problem and we could not get a room with hot water. It was suggested we rebook another hotel. We rebooked another hotel through Hotels.com for 11/7 & 11/8 and expected to get a refund for the Oyo payment. We contacted Hotels.com 4 times to request the refund. and each time they said they needed to contact the hotel Manager to get approval of the refund. They never were able to reach the manager and he neer returned their calls. Finally, because we are a long standing customer of Hotels.com they offered to issue us a credit on our account for a future booking. It's very unfortunate that Oyo was able to keep the payment. We are very dissatisfied with Oyo's unscrupulous behavior.

Cocaine deal in the elevator :) Right after my group checked in, we were on our way to our room when we saw the 8ball of cocaine trade off in the elevator. I was with my children, and they wanted to know what was going on. I told them they were trading sugar! Right after we got into our room, we found a gram of marijuana under the bed. The windows have no screens, there were bobbypins on the floor from the guests before us, hair in the bathtub, mold on the ceiling, the lobby was filled with smoke at 3 in the morning. air conditioning was freezing cold or hot as the gates of hell. Truly nothing surprises me after experiencing this hotel. Several bugs in our room. Ash in the toilet paper holder from someone smoking a cigarette in the bathroom. Burnholes in the blanket. This was comically horrible. The room was "straightened" before we came in, not cleaned. Many signs of the last guests.

Fungus on Face Yes, the handles were missing from the bathroom faucet. The floor was dirty. The TV did not work. It was loud, very loud at times. The ceiling tile in the bathroom was pretty bad. The water jutted out and pounded my face in the shower. There was poop on the toilet. The toilet lid did not match the toilet shape. I guess I thought I was lucky because it seemed to be clean towels there. There was no toilet paper btw. My bed seemed made very well and was oh so nice to sleep in. I thought the sheets had to be clean, I kinda smelled them, and they didn't smell dirty. The next day before I left, I noticed the pillowcase had mascara all over it on one side, the side I hadn't seen the day before. So, guess the sheets weren't clean. I developed fungus on that side of my face that I had on that pillow. It developed the next day after I checked out and I had to go to a doctor for it. Alcohol is really good and super cheap at the bar. I realized after reading the other reviews, though, that those pretty women I spoke to were prostitutes. I got asked if I wanted to buy drugs from a man that worked there. I guess I didn't get it till now, but I stayed in a brothel and got an std fungus on my face just by sleeping on one of the beds. I was scared the whole time, but adventured out anyways, and I actually had a good time. Looking back on it, I guess I'm lucky to be alive. Didn't check under the beds, and glad I didn't because it would have freaked me out. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
