Lovely, peaceful and charming respite! WOW, WOW, WOW!
Such a lovely and enjoyable, peaceful few days.
Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer.
From the moment we called to reserve space to the moment we had to depart, we were warmly and professionally served.
The accommodations are spacious, lovely personal touches with interesting art and clocks, enjoyed the fireplace and deck.
The solarium pool and spa were delightful. And the dining was YUM!
Breakfast is included and so plentiful,
as are the tasty dinner entrees.
All plant based cuisine.
Additional benefits are the gorgeous gardens, complimentary use of mountain bikes and discounted rates for canoes or kayaking for paddling on the river.
Looking forward to a swift return!
Thank you!

The food has changed We have been going to Stanford’s for years and Ravens has always been a highlight. Not this time. It has gone Full Vegan, from previously vegetarian and pescatarian which could be OK but the quality of the recipes and preparation left us very disappointed.
While we are not Vegans ourselves, we live in Santa Cruz and regularly eat at Vegan restaurants and also prepare vegan dishes at home. So we know it can be wonderful.
While we appreciate the passion and affirmations of life statement - the execution left “a bad taste in our mouths”.

GREAT LONG WEEKEND GETAWAY Beautiful quiet room with all the amenities, and a great view. The plant-based food was fantastic; so good that I ate every single meal there! Rent a canoe or a kayak when you go and explore the river, or run along the trails nearby - both were excellent ways to get some physical activity and still enjoy nature. A wonderful bookstore with all sorts of self-care references, including topics like meditation and art therapy, in addition to everything you'd ever want to know about growing or cooking healthy food. I've recommended Stanford Inn by the Sea to all my friends!

South to San Francisco We were making a slow drive to South to San Francisco via of Highway 1 from Crescent City to the Golden State Bridge. Absolutely one of the most beautiful and visual drives in the USA. Neither of us had been to Mendocino before and web research told us the was the place to overnight. My wife wasn't sure what I had secured for the evening, but was elated as we drove onto the Stanford Inn property. She couldn't believe there were farm animals and a orchard at the Stanford Inn. Check in was easier than most other places we stay and found the room to be very comfortable with a pleasant view of the property below. Our Schnauzer enjoyed exploring the property with my wife. My wife was pleasantly surprised that the dinner menu was vegan. For myself though not vegan I found several items on the dinner menu to enjoy. In summary the dinner was very good considering the Stanford Inn was only doing room service due to Covid 19. Before departing the following morning my wife indicated she wants to return the Stanford Inn to stay a few days while exploring the area around Mendocino.

Four days sheer heaven! We LOVED this place. I can't wait to go back. We chose it after searching for vegan restaurants in Mendocino. Hands down, the BEST vegan food is at the adjacent restaurant called The Raven.
The service, the setting, the garden, the location, the meal brought to our room... really, we loved everything about this lodge. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Be sure to rent a kayak or canoe just a short walk down to the pier.
