Highlight in a busy city, refuge in a lush atrium Review The moment you arrive at the front of Casa San Angeles you know you’ve made the right decision. A lush entryway to a historic, colonial building greets your arrival. As you pass through tall wooden doors, you have to stop and take in the two story courtyard. Well done murals painted by a local artist colorfully cover the walls & hide critters of the jungle. There is a cenote feel, with vines and plants filling the space. There you will be greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff. -Angelica is a gem, so pleasant and amazing at helping us arrange things like car rental. The charm continues with inviting balconies at the entrance to a beautiful, and comfortable room. —also, the galleries at the entrance have the highest quality art we saw in town. All the amenities are covered. Big walk in rain shower with a huge head. Cute paint, lots of horizontal surfaces for spreading out, robes, safe, ice, cool & hot drinking water, pastry & fruit breakfast. Boutique Hotel Casa San Angeles is perfectly located. Within walking distance (6 blocks) to El Centro/Zocalo/Municipal buildings where you can catch the city tours bus & see the murals of the Maya people history. It is right off Calle Gastronómico, with the great restaurants like Manjar Blanco & Los Cantaritos and down from a nice park with a food court for the cheaper food & fruit drinks. The Cyclovia event on Sundays when they close the nice road Montejo for bikes, skaters & walkers, starts right at their plaza. Dances and performances are often within a block. There was a “Fiesta Mex icana” on our Friday and we could hear it, along with some city noise, but it wasn’t really anything unusual from any city hotel

Pleasantly surprised! This hotel is truly a gem! Housed in a historic building, right on Paseo Montejo, this is a boutique hotel that doesn´t cost like one. I felt like I was at home, the staff were all very friendly and they quickly learned how I like my morning coffee. I want everyone to have this experience when in Merida. On the other hand ... it´s a well kept secret.

Ultimate Authentic Mexican Hotel This is our second stay at the hotel and our experience was fantastic. From checking in to checking out. Exceptional service from front desk as well as cleaning services and the restaurant. The hotel and our room was very clean and quaint in a very traditional Mexican theme. The staff are friendly and polite as well as helpful. The location is great and walking distance to Centro and the upmarket restaurant quarter called Calle Gastronomica.

A Jungle in the City Likes - We stayed in Hotel Boutique Casa San Angel one night only. The hotel is beautiful, when entreing the internal courtyard feels like you entered a jungle, with loads of tress, plants, birds... magnificent really! The room was on the first floor, it was spacious, beautifully decorated (ne of the best we have seen, really), provided with fridge, air conditioning and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also very big, clean, and the shower probably one of the best of our 14 days tour around the Yucatan peninsula The wi-fi worked perfectly. They also have a secure parking 5min. from the hotel. I was a bit concerned the location was a bit far from the city centre but actually we realised that this is not very far (about 20min walk). The streets between the hotel and the city centre are actually full of restaurants and cool bars, so in reality we had a lot of choices for dinner just round the corner Improvements - I think the breakfast could be improved in regard to quality and quantity. Personal suggestion is to not book the breakfast at the hotel and head out to the nearest cafe, you can have much more choices and more value for money

A truly delightful hotel. We really enjoyed staying here. Roberto and Angel, at the front desk, were very helpful. Octavio and Felipe, restaurant servers, were fun to chat with. The courtyard is full of plants and the walls have wonderful murals. Vines grow right up to the roof. The room was very comfortable. The hotel is only a 15 minute walk to the main park, and around the corner from the start of Paseo de Montejo. We look forward to coming here again.
