Never Returning to the DoubleTree Suites Minneapolis Downtown I don't remember every being in a worse hotel or experienced such lack of care for guests. The accessible room with roll in shower was different than the pictures we originally saw on their website. It also appears that they have changed their pictures since the time we booked the hotel. The original pictures I saw showed a room with a bed and a room with what appeared to be a sofa and there was also a picture of an oversized desk. There was no sofa in my suite and in the room with the desk there was a desk chair and an easy chair. No TV. There was no easy chair in the room with the bed. Their towel service did not provide them with sufficient towels and therefore towels were rationed. I need many towels in the bathroom for safety purposes in order to shower. I was not able to shower because of the towel issue. I believe they should have arranged for towels from a different provider or shopped every towel from local stores. Towels are critical for hotel guests. The Management and Reception staff were cold, unfriendly and couldn't have cared less. I will never return to this hotel and will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Agreesive and rude staff. I booked two rooms at this hotel for an upcoming hockey tournament. I was unable to book an extra night on the rate. I called the hotel spoke to a person who I believe may be the rudest person I ever talked to. I explained my situatin and asked him to help me book the additional night. He interupted me and said it wasnt available - he didnt even ask me the dates. I explained there were rooms available if he would just look to which he made some rude comment and hung up on me. I called back and asked him to speak with the manager. He just hung up on me. So I cancelled both rooms and will warn the tournament organizers. Yikes!

Call before you book First, let me start with the Pros... The bed slept well, the room was quiet, the breakfast was good, and it was convenient to where I was working. And now the Cons... The hotel says that they have a restaurant. It was never open while I was there, and the same goes for the bar- never open. My room with a King Sized Bed has 2 jokingly small pillows. If my wife had travelled with me it was not have been comfortable. They ran out of towels and wash clothes, so they were kind enough to hand out face towels to use instead. While the breakfast was good, it wasn't good enough to be charged for 2. When I called to get it corrected I was told that IF they had made a mistake regarding the charge that they would call me. I never got a call! I called again and was able to have the duplicate charge removed, but they left the duplicate charge for the tip on my bill. The hotel was going through some construction in the lobby and the hotel overall just generally needs some TLC. It was generally clean, just showing some wear. So as the title says, if you would like to get a night cap, or would like the option of having dinner there, call before you book. But if you like an English Pub the Brit is just around the corner and makes a great Shepherds Pie and the Guinness pairs well to wash it down. Cheers!

Run down shack of a place This is not a good hotel. As a Hilton Honors member I am accustomed to better. I should have known this was substandard the minute I arrived. There was black plastic covering most of the hole in the ceiling of the lobby. My room's closet doors didn't move, the toilet paper roll holder was broken, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall in a couple of places. the carpet was worn. It may have been a good room in 1990 but 34 years of wear & tear showed everywhere.

Not well maintained I stayed here for a conference because I was paying for myself and it was cheaper than the conference hotel. In many ways, it felt like you get what you pay for. The staff was nice on check in, but she mentioned how the gates to the parking garage were broken and the towel situation. Apparently the parking garage gates and the door to the hotel on the second floor don't always work. I mentioned that to a friend who stayed here two years ago and she said it was the same case then. When I got to my room, I washed my hands to discover I had no hand towels. When I went downstairs, I was told how some prior conference/convention cleaned out the town. Why they didn't tell me up front or tell people once their shipment came in is beyond me. I was lucky to get bath towels, my friends got nothing. My room was overall quite good with one major exception. I did find it odd that there's no do not disturb sign, I get that housekeeping was on demand, but it still serves a purpose. The bathroom is a disaster. There were tiles missing by the toilet, the shower curtain was missing the snap on liner, the shower control was missing the handle and the trim wasn't secured. Other than that the room had a desk, sitting area, microwave, and fridge. I would've liked to have seen a full length mirror. The gym was decent, nothing fancy, but there is a Peloton. The location was great, but I'm not sure I'd stay again next year. This property doesn't seem well kept.
