Time to totally redo You can tell this hotel used to be amazing and upscale. I imagine back in the day it was busy and very popular. But over time it has become run down. They have tried to update things, but they need more than updating. They need to remodel. The ceiling and windows in the atrium and pool are haven’t been kept up they way they should to prevent discoloration and film in windows. The cement in the pool area needs to be refinished. The tree in the pool are had a lot of fallen leaves that hadn’t been cleaned up. The “arcade” area had one game that was out of order. There was a pool table out of order. The different decorative plant areas seemed to have been put back together after breaking or falling apart with whatever they had instead of just redoing it. The floor where the tables and pool table are are falling apart. The room we had was supposed to be non-smoking, but you can tell it used to be a smoking room. It reminded me of the smell of motel 6 in the 1980s...when they allowed smoking but would try to cover it up with air freshener. My throat hurt, my nose got stuffy and my eyes burned. This is another sign that they have only updated and not replaced. You could hear every noise. Every car that drove by on Sisk. The loud ones randomly woke me up. People walking by, talking in normal voices, could be heard clearly. We had a hard time sleeping. We came for a surgery and have to drive an hour and a half back home today. So the lack of sleep is pretty inconvenient. The beds and pillows were comfortable at least. The security lock on the door was broken and only had one screw, as if it had been kicked in before. There was no hot water for a shower. Only lukewarm. The continental breakfast was only cereal and some prepackaged muffins and bagels and bread and a toaster. The stuff was there to have the hot stuff, but it was covered. This may be because of the corona virus, but I don’t believe the cost reflected the lack of actual continental breakfast. I really wish this had been kept up better. The style really didn’t need updating. I think the older look would be part of the charm. It really could be a neat hotel. It doesn’t really need a remodel to make things look different, it just needs to have everything ripped out and replaced with new stuff. And the popcorn ceiling should definitely go.

Shabby Online pictures look good but the hotel is shabby and in need of maintenance. Room heater blew out cold air half the time. The pool area/atrium looks nice at first glance but while the pool is heated (but only to 78°) the area is cold (some of the upper windows are open in January!). The hot tub is only heated to 102° which is just like warm. The staff is all very friendly!

Terrible hotel- AVOID Stayed here last minute with some friends before heading to San Francisco. Do not be deceived by the pictures it is awful. Firstly there is the rooms. Grotty, shabby, unclean, bed not made, shower did not work well. Then there was a disco going till 1:30am that no one was in. What a failure. Avoid at all costs if you want to sleep somewhere peacefully and safe.

Ignorant front desk staff Decided not to stay because front desk staff doesn't know what they are doing or how the Choice Hotels system works. A little more effort to train their personnel would go a long way. Read the other reviews for how much the hotel is lacking.

Okay place however... I've stayed here a couple times the hotel is old and it shows, nice bed and they've tried to update however I'd say it needs more than a new bed and TV to make the rooms feel updated. the bathrooms still old, and they didn't clean it at all. soap and long hairs all over the bath tub, the toilet paper was completely empty. it did have clean towels so hoy they-missed cleaning the bathroom is well ???
