Good resort for family Our family spent a few days at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello recently, as part of our Summer Holidays together. It was located not far from Gatineau & Mt. Tremblant, the 2 spots we also spent some time in. The hotel is a very large historic building in an idyllic setting, facing the Ottawa River and it offers many facilities and amenities, incl indoor & outdoor swimming, tennis and water sports. We like their children playground which was ideal for my almost 3 yr old grandson. My wife and daughter used their excellent spa facilities, and we all ate at their various restaurants. The staff was very friendly and did a marvellous job keeping everything clean, tidy and well supplied. It was a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend it to any family with young & older children.

Room very disappointing. Location great! BBQ great! Atmosphere great! Avoid staying anywhere near the “Lacombe” location within this establishment (specifically on the 4th floor!). The noise is unbearable from what I’m presuming is the air conditioning units. I’m writing this review at 2am because I can’t sleep! The room is basic and tired and needs a facelift! No complimentary water for the room (unusual as the last 3 hotels on our Canada road trip have provided this basic amenity!). The BBQ food was ok, plenty of it. I provided feedback at reception but they wasn’t interested. Looking forward to a non-AI generated response rather than the AI responses I’ve seen!

Great stay. Poor dining experience Food and experience eating in the main dining room was not up to Farmont standards. Would avoid eating at the Chateau and enjoy your stay and eat locally where the staff’s are more friendly and the food more tasty and reasonably priced . They need to do better and not make excuses.

Great Wedding - Failed Room Had a great time at my friends wedding. But a fail for my room, as this property is showing it's age. We got a discounted rate for staying for two nights for the wedding group rate, which as almost $1000 for the two nights. A lot of money for a room that was so small where you couldn't anything out in the bathroom as there was no counter. (my friends toiletry bag fell off this little shelf into the toilet). Anyway not worth the money as I could have stayed at the Royal York for the money.

Amazing Chateau Montebello is our home away from home. Always looking forward to spending time at Chateau. The most important thing is, the service and hospitality that everyone at the Chateau gives us. What makes our vacations so magical is the staff they treat us like family.
