Predjudice at Decameron My experience with the staff drastically changed when a friend of mine visited me. I had been staying at the hotel prior to his arrival. He is a local, I am not. He visited me because I was celebrating my birthday, so instead of do a day pass, he opted to book a room and enjoy the hotels facilities as well. That’s when things all went sour. Because I am also male, most if not ALL MALE staff either out right refused to serve us: two male friends. Of course one can deduce that this would be as a result of extreme homophobia. But it is so wrong of them to assume that two friends can’t just enjoy each other’s company, have some drinks and eats, enjoy the beach and activities at the hotel. It got so bad that when we asked one of the female staff members at the Passa Passa restaurant for a male staff’s name who refused to serve us, she started begging that we pardon him. I absolutely hated this. It does nothing for the image of the hotel, that weak masculinity is at the front of the business. This post isn’t even about if me and my friend are gay or not. DO BETTER!

Best staff ever ! By far one of the best experiences of my life. Every staff member was so kind, thoughtful, respectful, outgoing, fun, and educational. The staff that Runs the events was so much fun with the entertainment all day. Huge thanks to Zoey, Sweetness, Fierce, Jay Jay, Freshh, Vanilla, Energy, MJ, Rose, Tuff Crackaz, and Sammy Bammy. You all make that hotel the most amazing experience of a lifetime. I truly want to thank all the staff for all the hard work you guys do every good and bad day. You all need a Raise for the outstanding hotel.

If you like staying at super 8 you’ll like be this place. This isn’t all inclusive…it’s a motel that serves food Room smelled like mold. Bed was dirty, you never see housekeeping remove bedding from the room. Pillows smelled sour. I didn’t change rooms cuz I was only there 2 days and slept on my own stuff. I caught security (red shirt) peeping in my window in middle of the day. Upon checkout no one came with a luggage cart. Food was mediocre.it’s like the cooks don’t even taste their cooking. Too salty to even be edible. Ate in the restaurant the second night, that food was worse than the buffet. Bartenders were great and the hostess at dinner was nice and she smiled!! The view and entertainment were probably the best part. I didn’t really do much after dark because the creepy security guard sat on a bench out side my door all night.

Overall Opinions Very outdated. Could use a coat of paint. Rooms are old and musty smelling. Safe is in a dark closet. Poor lighting especially for women wanting to do makeup. Wifi is sporatic. Dining room staff are very grumpy looking except for Monique who has an outstanding personality. Nightly entertainment is non existant. This resort is so antiquated they give you an actual room key. Maid showed up 2 days out of a 7 day stay to clean room.

Jamaican vibs This is a 70+yr resort with a lot of character. Great jamaican vibe. Location is second to none, on the beach, anchored at one end of the "hip strip". Rooms are clean, plenty of variety of food (all inclusive). Very easy to do day trip to either Ocho Rios or Negril and just 5 minutes from the airport! Okay, the hiccups. The rooms are dated, this is a solid 3 star out of five star resort. If you are expecting 5 star services & facilities, it's not. What you do get is a laid back, casual, fun atmosphere with great vibes from the staff. Additional benefit: you can use the sister resort, Cornwall Beach, beach, bars and restaurants! November 17th, renovation will include common area flooring, changing from door key to card key, room remodeling. Not sure of ADA features. In addition to the nenovations, additional staffing and possibly a elevator. I'm a longtime returnees, just got back, will be back in May. Take it nice and easy, grac
