Hilton Garden Inn Monterey

Nice enough hotel just outside Monterey We stayed here in August 2024 on our visit to Monterey. The hotel is located just out of town, but in a convenient location. The room was OK and had a very nice bathroom. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We had a balcony, but didn't use it. There was an outdoor pool in the central area. We had breakfast one morning which was quite nice, but not a very good selection. The hotel charged $19 for parking, which I felt could have been included in the price.

Poor noise isolation The hotel is 7 mins drive from the aquarium which is quite convenient to get to. Everything was nice except when I was waked up by the noise from the guys walking in his room just above mine 4am in the morning. The noise was so loud I thought it was my family member walking inside my room! I will not recommend this hotel due to its toot noise isolation, no matter how good the location and services are.

Great hotel I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend trip to Carmel (which was an 8 minute drive from the hotel). The hotel has been renovated and everything is nice and clean and modern. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - front desk, cleaning crew and the bartender were all so kind. Checkin was easy and quick. I travel frequently and I would absolutely stay here again!

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable. We stayed here mid July for 2 nights. The hotel is a little bit away from main tourist attractions but they are really easy and inexpensive to get to via Lyft/uber if you don’t have a car or don’t want to chance not getting a parking space. When we checked in our room wasn’t available, but to be fair we were slightly early. Staff were really good though and held our luggage while we explored Monterey. When we returned the room was ready. We stayed in a double queen room and this was a good size. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. There is an underground car park which allows you to park your car really close to your room. We ate in the hotel twice, one on an evening. Although this is advertised as a restaurant it’s really a bar. We were sat quite close to the bar and it was quite noisy. I don’t really have an issue with this but sometimes some of the people were using quite bad language, there was families around so wasn’t really appropriate. This didn’t bother me but could see how it might bother some others. My advice would be try and get a table as far away from the bar as possible if you are with a young family. I Would recommend a separate area for families to eat, leaving bar patrons to act like they are in a bar and family diners to feel like they are in a restaurant. Food was ok without being spectacular. We also had breakfast one day, this was good. Staff on both occasions were friendly and helpful. Overall I would say this is a good hotel and warrants a 4* review. Location wise it’s not in the hustle and bustle of fisherman’s wharf/cannery row but is close enough to explore both of the places as well as the wider area. Staff were always really friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, convenient, clean! Such a great stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Monterey! The service and staff were always helpful and had a smile. Room product was super clean, comfortable and had a fridge and microwave which helped with a toddler. After a day of city touring we jumped into the nice size heated pool and jacuzzi which was a real treat. The location was so convenient and close to all the attractions. They had washer and dryers again a plus with a toddler. Last but not least breakfast was great and the steak they had on the dinner menu was super tasty!
