Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa

Excellent Hotel! Amazing place to stay. Staff was very pleasant and room was extremely clean. Restaurant and lobby bar was nice. Roof top hot tubs overlooking the bay was definitely our favorite. Location was perfect. It was in the middle between canary row shops and fisherman wharf so we were able to walk everywhere. We will definitely stay again.

Such a wonderful resort on the Pacific coast We stayed for 2 nights.,,room was very nice as was the views. Balcony is highly recommended. Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Resort is large but you don’t feel lost. Valet is a bit spicy ($45.00/noght) but all other fees were representative of a good hotel. Highly recommended - we will be back

Out of staters celebrating an anniversary. Having never been to Monterey, we did enough research to know this was a nice hotel in a nice location. Wrong. It is a GREAT hotel in a GREAT location. Perched literally on the bay at the end of Cannery row and a short ride to Fisherman’s Village, this is exactly where you want to be. Starting with Trevor at Valet, Summer at Concierge and every single staff member from check in to bar to restaurant, was very outgoing, friendly & professional. Our king room faced the bay and the waves soothed us to sleep and were great to wake up to. Food in the restaurant was fantastic (crab eggs Benedict, salmon and short rib pasta bolognese). Easy starting point for a trip through 17 mile drive and Big Sur. 100% would stay here on next visit!

Great location and hotel We only stayed for one night but the lobby, room and gym were all very nice. The rooms are spacious and we opted for the partial ocean view. The view was nice but unfortunately we were there during a rainy period. The bathroom was a bit dated but functional.

A Hotel Experience to Remember Forever! We Will Return For More Memories! Thanks to all of the Monterey Plaza Hotel team for an exceptional experience! Our check-in late evening moments with the valet, bell staff, and the front desk were welcoming and bonding. The front desk manager was very experienced, and he spent time orienting us. We never made it to the early morning coffee starting at 5:30 AM on the deck, but we knew we should have for the unique sunrise moments looking out to the water with marine mammals and birds to start our day. Our very large suite with waiting MPH brand wine and food was so special! The windows all around and porches allowed us to take many photos and enjoy the views. The beauty, nature, and luxury restored and inspired us. The Housekeeping Department staff with their attention to details met all our needs. We ate in the hotel restaurants except for a delicious lunch at the Monterey Aquarium. It was so nice to easily go to the various locations and find gourmet food. All the servers were from the area, and shared information with us. At one of the restaurants we met two other guest couples from Napa, California. We traded contact information, and I hope to visit with them again either in Napa or Monterey. We went and returned in the hotel van for our field trip to the Monterey Aquarium. We have been several times before, but we saw new exhibits, received more long life education, and made new friends. We even met the Assistant Director to Julie Packard who told us interesting stories from his knowledge and experience over the many years. Please give my regards especially to the two Matthews who took time to chat with me. Both were excellent guest conversationalists. My husband and I have been to Monterey and Carmel many times, but this trip was unique and designed differently by hotel leaders guiding us from our initial reservation. We will always remember our guest moments! We will return to be guests again at the Monterey Plaza Hotel!
