Feeling a bit ripped off Arrived at 9:30pm. Front door locked. Called Hotel. Checkin is across street. Take luggage across street to check-in. Back across street to get to room. Carry luggage up to 3rd floor. Enter room. Room occupied by other guests. Carry luggage back down 3 flights of stairs. Call front desk. Given new room. Back up 2 flights of stairs with luggage. Checkin person came and helped (thanks). 2nd room given has AC broken (it’s 30 degrees outside), fridge is broken, safe is broken and nobody cleaned room. Front desk staff who checked me in was very nice. Haven’t let front desk know that multiple things are broken because I didn’t want people in and out of room to try and fix things with the safe broken. Room 327. No breakfast (Covid), nobody at front desk. Staff is across the street at the other hotel.

Avoid. Should have listened to negative reviews. First night here and I am up at 430am! Two more nights to go because I made the mistake of prepaying a hotel without seeing it first. Between a dreadful bed which sloped, creaked and sank all night , and being awakened by guests walking and talking overhead at 1am and again at 4, I got no sleep at all. Despite my booking requests for a quiet room on upper floor, check in staff were polite but dismissive of my request for a room I specified claiming a sold out weekend. No offer to have my room changed for the upcoming two nights. Not sure if I will be able to tolerate this without sleep. Back in Montreal after 10 years and what a disappointment! Very tired and disgusted by the hotel so far. Avoid if you want a comfortable bed and some quiet during day and night.

Quaint property that is in terrible repair Was put into four different rooms first two had the wrong size beds then the third was so hot it was unbearable was asked to open the window which only opened partially somehow allowing all the noise in but now air. Tried to take a shower it felt like the tub may fall threw the floor and you couldn’t change the water temperature. Only to call for maintenance and the gentleman that showed up while nice had no idea what he was doing. Only to be moved again to another room with again no air, so we had to ask for a fan so that we could at least sleep

Not What I Read I was really looking forward to visiting Canada. The hotel had such a spiritual name. However both were torpedoed early on. I know there are Cities/ townships in Canada which are amazing but Montreal City ain’t one of them. The hotel doesn’t have a lift so any baggage needs to be carried, if you have a disability forget it. The rooms not chic but tired, 1980s not 1930s. The bright spot, the breakfast was excellent.

Great location We were here for only two nights. Our room was small but had everything we needed including a coffee maker and fridge. The night tables were a nice size for a change. There was a dresser and closet with iron and iron board. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Tickets for the museum were included as was the lovely breakfasts. We highly recommend. Oh, there are no elevators and the stairs are steep.
