Perfectly revitalized accommodations in Montreal A pandemic renovation resulted in true modern luxury in the heart of Montreal. To compliment this all the staff were incredibly customer service oriented. The rooms are bright an airy with all the amenities you could want (including toilets with all the automated bells and whistles).

Disappointingly treated as a Platinum member Stay: 2020-08-28 to 2020-08-29 Room 1814 I have always been feeling acknowledged as a Marriott Platinum member and a loyal customer since I joined Marriott until my recently stay in this hotel. I have noticed the following details from its computer generated confirmation after I made my reservation through the company website: I could cancel my reservation for no charge two days before arrival I would have to pay On-site parking, fee: 12 CAD hourly, 28 CAD daily I was not notified the hotel was undergoing a complete renovation. Two days before my arrival, Robin Fromont, Front Office Supervisor, sent me a greeting email. Not until then I have noticed that the hotel is going through a complete transformation and community improvements are underway, and the parking fee would be 32 CAD daily. If I knew the hotel is going through renovation, I would not have booked the hotel. But It was already too late to cancel it. When I arrived the lobby, only a section was open for check-in (there were floor to ceiling dividers so I could not see how big the lobby was originally) and there was only one lady at the front desk. She seemed busy enough to answer phone calls and check in with us. We had to roll our luggage up to the room ourselves. She welcomed me and my husband and explained that the member's lounge was not open during renovation but willing to offer me 750 points. I paid the unlimited in and out 32 CAD parking. As a Platinum member, I am entitled to one free breakfast plus one guest. As the restaurant was closed, she offered me an a la carte menu and said "You can order whatever you want from the menu." Our room was just renovated as we could still smell the paint. They have done a very good job on the cleanliness in the room especially during this pandemic. The next morning we called and ordered four items from the menu. As we rolled our luggage again to check out, our unlimited in and out parking ticket didn't work. My husband parked the car side way and went back to the front desk. A French speaking staff came out and he spent 10 minutes talking to someone from his walkie-talkie. We never knew what happened because of the language barrier but the gate was finally opened. A few hours later I was checking on the email invoice, there was a charge of 41.40 CAD on top of the 32 CAD parking charge. I called and spoke with Amy from Room Division. She said she would only honor two items from the breakfast menu but not four even I was told to "order whatever I want" at the time I checked in. She admitted It was a huge misunderstanding but she would not take the charge away. We are very disappointed not only because we were not notified of the renovation but also the breakfast arrangements. I booked this hotel as a Platinum member, however, the lounge and the breakfast privileges were not enjoyed. I could have spent 41.40 CAD on a nice local restaurant instead. I could have stayed in Courtyard Montreal Downtown just down the street if I don't want lounge nor breakfast. I understand hotel business is struggling to survive during the pandemic. However, I am frustrated the way I was treated as a Platinum member. Well, one less loyalty doesn't harm the Marriott family, does it?

Great location !! This is a well situated hotel, but it desperately needs a facelift, the rooms need to be renovated. Excellent service, but a bit snobby for a run down hotel. You can find much newer hotels downtown for cheaper rates. This use to have a starbucks but it has since been moved across the street, sucks when its raining.

helping my daughter move I went to Montreal on June 27 to help my daughter move - this marriot was nice and close - perfect for me -within waking distance. The hotel was nice and clean - beautiful room - very quiet because of covid - however i would recommend staying there with out hesitation. That's the good part and now the bad - I have a Ford 150 pickup truck - I had parked on the st while helping my daughter - but being unsure of parking regulations i thought "well i'll drive and park near or at the hotel". There was construction all around and i had to phone the hotel to get directions - the fellow was very helpful and i arrived at the entrance to the hotel/parkng garage without incident - HOWEVER- i was directed to park on the 5th floor - and on the way down the top of the truck banged on the roof of the parking garage on numerous occasions before i could turn around ond get out of there - I just had it repaired at a cost of over $1200.00 - im sure this must have happened to other people - why on earth wouldn't the fellow - who saw my truck - say " hey pal - it's a low ceiling - you may want to re think this "

Bright, beautiful and great location This recently renovated hotel is charming! The rooms are bright and beautiful with amazing views of the city! Within a five minute walk to the Bell centre, shops and restaurants (in the heart of downtown.) Looking forward to my next stay.
