The Ritz Carlton, Montreal ....Putting on the Ritz. The Ritz Carlton, Montreal enjoys a prestigious address on Sherbrooke Street and has been knighted the 'Elegant Lady' of Quebec with its CAA/AAA Five Diamond Award. This downtown property is in the epicentre of the Golden Square Mile district and is a hop-skip-jump from upscale boutiques, art galleries , top-notch museums flagship stores for haute luxury retail brands and within walking distance of Mount Royal. Frequented by celebrities, Elizabeth Taylor hitched up to Richard Burton here.....; however, the hotel endured much longer than their relationship did! The Ritz was incarnated in 1912; but, it has retained its jewel-like glitter through renovation iterations over the years as well as maintaining the buildings charming architecture. The lobby is tastefully appointed with marble and historic detail, regal purple and creamy hues and smothered in crystal chandeliers. The hotel's gorgeous Palm Court is the cornerstone of the lobby space, with arched ceiling outlined in palm trees and houses the Ritz's famed Afternoon Tea Salon and Champagne Bar. Also encased in the lobby, is the site of the Maison Boulud, the Montreal restaurant of rock star chef, Daniel Boulud. This area is the social heart of the Ritz Carlton. My suite was stunning, spacious and well endowed. The surroundings embodied a classical aura with an orchestrated mix of 'old and new' as exemplified by a marble fireplace and elegantly polished hardwood floors coupled with the latest high-tech amenities for room environment controls such as lights , temp. etc. A modernistic style decorates the space with neutral tones and popping pinkish/purplish accents. My boudoir was appointed with a desk equipped with basic office supplies, custom made furniture, and of course a large flat screen TV (in the bathroom too). The bath was exquisite: heated floors, heavy on the marble, rainforest shower and a fancy Japanese Toto toilet. I was shocked at the smartness of this bathroom appliance. Other features of the Ritz include rooftop pool, afternoon tea, spa and fitness centre. The hotel's pretty Palm Court serves afternoon tea with all the pomp and glory typical of Buckingham Palace. I tried it on for style; thinking the Queen might show up. Don't forget the Dom Perignon Champagne Bar for a taste of the bubbly: however, I just had a plain old Manhattan. For food, that is upper crust, on site dinning restaurant Maison Boulud, led by Michelin-starred Daniel Boulud fits the bill with French inspired cuisine anted up with locally sourced produce and craftsman Quebecois ingredients. One can choose main courses the likes of braised beef short ribs, pasta with lamb, roasted quail and much more. There is even a Boulud burger ..a Michelin class concoction...this is not your Big Mac. Deserts are to die for....make your funeral arrangements before trying. So, if you want a memorable stay in the height of luxury, with a helpful friendly staff, impeccable accommodations, superior service, welcoming spa and a signature dining experience...........then try the .....Ritz Carlton.......Putting on the Ritz.

Perfect stay for a weekend getaway The Montreal Ritz Carlton is a beautiful hotel, located in a very convenient part of the city, close to shopping, great restaurants, sports venues and art galleries. The outstanding feature of this hotel is the level of service which is as good as it gets anywhere. All staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. From the valet parking, reception, house keeping, room service and spa, everyone was very pleasant and seemed to anticipate our needs. Room service food was delicious and delivered quickly. Cafe Boulud downstairs was excellent. The spa is clean and modern. Pool area and sun deck are pleasant and well cared for. Our room was large, clean and had everything we could want. The quality of service here really makes a stay special and memorable. Hope we can come back soon!

Very nice staycation! What we enjoyed Great service Extremely clean Tasty room service Sound proof rooms Nice view Great location Beautiful historical building Windows opens to get fresh air Comfy robes Very nice shower and bath AC is great Things we found soso The nightlight was very bright, wakes up everyone if 1 person needs to get up Beds are on the hard side Steamer in the bathroom doesn’t really turn off easily and can make the whole room very hot All the electronics are pretty annoying, they actually make life more complicated not easier. From the toilet to the blinds, electronics everywhere, was a bit annoying and made these small things complicated for nothing really. These complaints are just preference. Some people might love this. This is why we left a 5 star review. The 5 star review is based on the quality of the service, hotel, amenities, not emotional preferences.

A staycation for my wife and I My wife and I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so we stayed at the Ritz in our own city. This hotel was closed for a total remake so we decided to check it out. We checked in early, used the spa, had dinner and breakfast in our room because of Covid restrictions. The room was perfect. Every detail was thought of, and everything is modern, but classic at the same time. Great service, and great facilities. The hotel, and all of downtown Montreal, was empty because of Covid. Our room was totally sanitized just before we checked in. My wife and I had a great experience. It was a nice treat for our special occasion.

Weekend Stay We really enjoyed our stay at Ritz Carlton Montreal. Ritz Carlton is in our home city, and decided that this year to celebrate our 33rdt wedding aniversary. there once again. After changing the reservation on several occasions because of Covid19 and the lock down. We finally broke down and said we needed a change and decided to go on our weekend. Our experience was number 1 in my books. With all the new rules with Covid, I was impressed on how well the Ritz rose to the occasion of giving guest the best experience possible. This was our 4th time staying here and we will be back. We chose the hotel as its centrally located to the metro, bus, and is in walking distance to many attractions, making the hotel even more attractive. Terrific room, bedding, towels, bathroom, the service - I can't say enough. Again I have to mention the very friendly and professional staff at Ritz-Carlton. They really made us feel welcome during this pandemic. We felt very secure and safe in the hotel and in our room. The Ritz whent over and above on cleanliness to the point of vaccuum packing and sealing everything that was sanitized. We will definitely be staying here again.
