few days We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon, there were three of us to a room. room was clean and comfortable and shower was very nice. Elevators were very slow but the hotel was full. Grounds were beautiful and very close to everything, which was nice. Only complaint was front desk clerk was rude and was always on her phone for personal business, because everyone could hear her.

Hoped for a better experience Overall our stay was just ok. I was disappointed by the condition of the hot tub, which is one reason we picked this hotel. It looked like it desperately needed a power wash and the jets didn’t work. I put my feet in but wouldn’t sit in it all the way because the walls were brown, while the seats were less brown and the pool walls were white. Another guest said the jets had worked the day before. We wanted a river view room but I think the hotel was so booked that we were lucky to get anything. We were put in a wheelchair accessible room, which was humbling I suppose. The shower was equipped with a fold down shower chair and extra grab bars. The chair was sort of foreboding in giving my daughter a bath there. (We needed to clean off after being in the hot tub for sure) There was a party going on in the pool room at 9 pm and at one point I counted 20+ kids swimming or running around. It was a local sports team. They were kind and as a parent I was tolerant but something to note if you’re looking for a relaxing time. I showered after the pool and the towel that had been folded on the counter, unused by us yet, had something brown and mushy on it only found after I finished wiping. It wasn’t from me. I’ve never had that happen at a hotel before. _ The beds were clean, check in and check out was easy, and there were plenty of towels provided in addition to having the bedding for the fold out sofa available on arrival which isn’t always the case these days. The restaurant stopped serving food by the time we were looking for it (it was after 10 pm). Starbucks is still shut down. We ended up getting breakfast elsewhere. There was a bit of a musty smell on floor 5, like it used to be a smoking floor but no longer is or maybe just age of the building. Elevators were fast. Ice machine easily available and working. TV worked. We could hear the neighboring guests in the early morning which woke me up at one point. The curtains didn’t completely block out light (I’m very light sensitive). There is a mini fridge in the room, coffee maker with pods, tea bags, etc. You can see the toilet from the main floor hallway if the bathroom barn-style door isn’t closed. Perhaps a design flaw due to being an accessible room but be aware to close it just in case. Overall we were safe, mostly clean, and secure. For the Marriott brand and the cost per night for the room it was a let down, though. I’m not sure why it is described as “new” because this building is clearly at least 30 years old. It is a huge complex, there was a wedding going on, there is a church and conference center attached to the building between the hotel and the parking garage. Parking was $12/day, charged to the room. The pool area has a men’s and a women’s locker room. The women’s had a couple bathroom stalls and two showers. No lockers though, just FYI. There is a walking path right by the hotel that leads to a park by the dam and then down toward restaurants the other direction. Things are challenging in the hospitality industry due to the pandemic but some of this was just gross; the brown spot in the towel and the hot tub being what stood out the most.

Morgantown‘s best hotel This is the definition of a five star hotel. I am a Marriott member, and there are a few hotels that compared to this one in terms of quality, aesthetic beauty, and amenities. We had a spacious, corner room with a River view. The view did not disappoint. The room was immaculate, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was large. The shower was modern, and they included some very nice toiletries to use. The towels were soft and plentiful. There was a second view of the river from the bathroom window. The bar and restaurant on site, Bourbon Prime, was fantastic. I am a Morgantown native, and their take on pepperoni rolls was one of the best I’ve ever had. They were served warm with plenty of pepperoni. They had a chicken Parmesan special which was much better than the food at nearby Oliverios. They feature a local version of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, appropriately called “almost heaven“. The bartender served up a delicious cocktail with cherry wood smoke, also one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were easy. The hotel is within close walking distance to several other great, local restaurants, and an easy driving distance to downtown Morgantown, WVU, and the football stadium. Treat yourself and stay here when you visit all the Morgantown has to offer.

Nice Hotel WE stayed here for one night while passing through Morgantown. The Hotel is very nice, no Complaints. It is right on the Water front Greenway with several good restaurants within easy walking distance. WE would have liked a River view, but our room looked out over the road.

Huge Facility with a long walk to parking garage 3 nights on the 8th floor, overlooking the river - beautiful. Due to the size of this hotel, the parking is not close, but a far walk to and from the garage. The room was generously sized and the bed very comfortable. However, like many hotels, there wasn’t enough light on cloudy days or at night. 2 of 4 lights were out around the bathroom mirror and were not fixed as I requested. If one wishes to apply makeup, the task is difficult in such dim light. Bringing a luggage cart into the hotel is very difficult as the doors are not automatic and one must open one, go into the entry space, then through another door. As a cart can not be put into the revolving doors, this makes arriving and leaving with a luggage cart, very difficult. I had to ask 2 boys to assist me when I left the hotel.
