Holiday Inn Express Munising-Lakeview by IHG

Pretty expensive for what you actually get. Location, Location, Location is why they can charge what they do. Hotel is on the edge of town but with a great view of Lake Superior. It is too far to walk into town. Spent 3 nights in a typical Holiday Inn room with a bit of expanded seating. Room was starting to show their wear from the last renovation in 2015. The room was nothing special. Did come with a mini fridge and microwave and two extra chairs and a love seat and coffee table. The view of Lake Superior was great and the balcony was nice although we were on the second floor right over the patio area from the breakfast room so always people on the patio and sometimes smoking (the smoke would come up to our balcony). The screen door was off the track so very difficult to open and close. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. Upon returning to our room on our second day our keycards didn't work. Housekeeping had to let us in and it took the front desk an hour to issue new cards. The hotel advertises laundry room but there is only one washer and one dryer although they are reasonably priced (bring your own soap). Breakfast was typical fare and the kids seemed to like it. The stay was ok. But for the $1300 (with all the taxes included) for 3 nights it was one expensive vacation for an average hotel (note - the are undergoing renovations) althugh the area (Munsing) is beautiful.

Clean and comfortable room with an amazing view! Clean and comfortable room! The hotel Staff was very friendly and the view and location was absolutely beautiful. We had everything we needed here and were able to get a great night’s sleep. We had a normal King room but the Lakeview rooms had private patios and balconies.

Great room! Beautiful view. Great attentive staff. Room was very spacious. Huge con- absolutely no soundproofing. I could hear the conversations of the people on both sides of our room. It sounded like a herd of elephants were stampedeing above us. Little cons - price was a bit pricey. Front door is an absolute pain. I had read about it, but I was still unprepared. Tiny elevator and the stairs are a bit hidden. But again- the balcony view was breathtaking! The breakfast attendant was great. Kept the food plentiful and the area clean. Best I have seen at a Holiday Inn.

Wonderful short stay We stayed the night at the Munising Holiday Inn Express. It was a beautiful hotel and our room had a fantastic view of Lake Superior. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Wifi was a bit slow. Lots to see and do in the area. The free breakfast was the usual fare. The veggie & cheese omelets were surprisingly tasty! We enjoyed our stay but would love to see an EV charger installed. We would definitely return if we could charge our EV while at the hotel. We did find a slow charger at the gas station/liquor store just down the road.

Holiday Inn Express Had a great stay. Location can't be beat, very close to town and activities. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Many pillows to choose from. Breakfast was good, hot things hot and cold things cold. Pool was very slippery, so be careful! Front desk was helpful and friendly.
