Cockroach in Hilton room; needs major updates! I am a member of the Hilton Hotels and this one was the worst that I have ever stayed in. My husband and I stayed in Room 120 (king size bed); pillows smelled everyday like popcorn; very soft and uncomfortable (needed to use both). Rug smelled musty and damp. Bathroom door was shredded at one end and paint peeling. All the toiletry bottles were empty (soap, conditioner and body wash) the 1st night we checked in; so I asked at front desk and she gave me couple little bottles. Second day, same story--all empty and not refilled; thus, I informed them at front desk. Was not able to check in at 4:00 pm; front desk said that they would text me; never received a text. No continental breakfast; only coffee/tea near front desk (or inside room). Third night, I had to ask for our room to be redone because there were no towels and the bed was not made. Finally, checking out Friday, I see a cockroach on it's back kicking; I requested the maid to come and remove it. She stepped on it and kicked it out into the hallway!!! Never did I expect such an old outdated room for $300 per night at Hilton. It needs major upgrades and much cleaner (not dirt sweepted into corners in the bathroom.

Perfect accommodations to do Mystic Room and hotel both beautiful, place was clean inside and out. Lobby areas really nice, fireplaces etc. Front desk attentive and knowledgeable and its located perfectly if you want to do Mystic. Ive been there before for a holiday event years ago, place still great. I cant rate highly enough.

Better Than Other Reviews Suggest The Hilton Mystic was better than most recent reviewers give it credit for. The location is excellent - immediately adjacent the Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mystic Village Shops, and just a few minutes drive from Mystic Seaport and Mystic Village - yet far enough away from the interstate highway to avoid most road noise. The facility is indeed a bit tired here and there (e.g. the carpeting), but our room was in good condition although the air conditioning unit was rather loud and required constant adjustment to the television volume as the unit cycled on and off. Still, the bed was excellent, the staff was efficient, and the breakfast buffet was better than most (one could have eggs any style, the fruit was fresh, and smoked salmon was provided). Not my favorite Hilton, but a very good stay at a price as expected for the area.

Good location, but doesn’t feel like a Hilton. We chose those location because of its location - across the street from the aquarium. The location was great as we were able to walk to the aquarium, Olde Mystick Village and Starbucks. I checked in to room 453 on the Hilton app and opted for a digital key. We went directly to the room, but the key didn’t work and I was directed to get help from the front desk. The FD agent she said she “wasn’t an expert” on the digital key and told me what she thought I was supposed to do. It did not work so I gave up and used hard keys. FD staff should know how to use the app or the app should not be offered. They should also be more welcoming to guests. I didn’t even get a smile. The room was spacious and clean, but the AC seemed to be broken on the 4th floor, which I told the hotel when they texted me asking about my stay. The hallways were hot and humid. It was obvious that the hotel was aware because they had dehumidifiers in the halls. The other floors were all cool (I checked ). Our room never felt cool despite setting the temp at 65 in an attempt to cool it off. It was also humid and the bathroom did not have a fan, so it was worse after someone took a shower. I should have asked to move at check-in. We did not go to the restaurant, but it looked nice. The hotel itself is themed nicely to go along with the aquarium. The outdoor seating/fire pits looked really nice, but it was too hot during our stay. The indoor pool area is small but a nice addition. Overall, this seemed more like a lower tiered Hilton to me (like a Hilton Garden Inn). I stayed at the Capital Hilton in DC last month for only $20 more a night and it was far better and more luxurious. I would stay at the Mystic Hilton again because of the location, but only after looking at all other options in the area first.

Needs reno and repairs The room we had reserved online was unavailable at the 4 pm check in time. They placed us in 256. This hotel needs more than a deep clean it needs repairs and upgrades. There are weird lumps and crunchy areas in the comforter. (Photo 1 room 256)The filling is bunched up and crunchy like crumpled-up newspaper. There are yellow stains on the bed sheets. (Photo 2- room 256) We asked to be moved to a clean room. The next room was mildly better. The curtains are actually ripped in multiple places and it looks like a dog chewed the damp area on the wall near the wall AC unit. Cobwebs are illuminated by the bathroom mirror and behind the mirror's edges. There are greasy fingerprints and grime on the furniture which is in bad repair. There are scuff marks on the peeling wallpaper. The faucet has chipping silver paint that highlights the plastic and yellowing faucet components. There are watermarks on the furniture. The tub caulking is moldy. The hotel pool was so cloudy you could not see the bottom. The pool towels are raggedy and threadbare. (See striped pool towel image). Also, the “art” next to the bed makes no sense. So weird and disconcerting. The artwork is a collage of aggressive statue faces. The bathroom has one 2-inch towel hook, no towel bars to hang towels. Upside: we got two free bottles of water. The location is the only 4 star aspect about this hotel.
