Two Wonderful Nights at the Inn! I spent two nights at the Inn at Mystic on a quick vacation up to Rhode Island and Connecticut. Everything was excellent. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. When I got to my room, the tv was not working. The staff immediately came to the room and straightened it out (someone had unhooked the cable, so it wasn't getting a signal - I probably should have checked that). All of the staff were friendly, professional, and efficient. The Inn sits on top of a small hill overlooking the mouth of the Pequotsepos River as it empties into Mystic Harbor. Very scenic views! They had an onsite restaurant (Rocks 21) with a small, but nice, continental breakfast each day and they had such good happy hour specials, I ate both of my dinner meals there, too. The wait staff there was also excellent! I was able to visit the Mystic Seaport and the Submarine Force Museum, which are nearby and I had a wonderful conclusion to my vacation.

The Inn takes away your stress from the very beginning! Traveling can be stressful. So many things to worry about. Will I like my room? Is it quiet? Is it clean? Is it worth the money? Staying at the Inn at Mystic eliminates all of that! We just finished our 7th stay here in the last 8 years and it just gets better and better. That starts with the people. They seem to be very careful about who they hire, because a great and friendly staff doesn't just happen. It starts with booking the rooms where I usually work with Brenda. She is always very helpful and accommodating. Arriving on July 4th, the first face we see is Brittany's - and as always, she's got a big smile. I didn't really expect her to remember us but she did - even to what room number we had the year before. Brittany isn't just friendly, she cares, and really wants to be sure your stay is happy and smooth. There's no way to review the Inn without reviewing Rocks 21 (the restaurant across the parking lot) at the same time. For us they go hand in hand. The staff at Rocks 21 is a big part of why we come back year after year. They are so much fun, so welcoming - but they also know when to give you space. Every year I walk in and hope, hope, hope that Dan is (or will soon be) at the bar. Chris and Jake managing and making sure everyone is happy with their visit there. Candi at the hostess stand - making sure you get just the right seat (there are so many options). They are all so entertaining. The food is outstanding, the prices are reasonable and they have sensational Happy Hour deals five days a week. They have 2 decks with amazing views and a patio (rather new) on another level. They just never settle for being great, they are always looking for the next great way to add to your experience. A bar on the main level (for a more quiet experience) and another one on the patio level for a little more energy. Back to the Inn itself . . . rooms with king beds PLUS a wood burning (Duraflame) fireplace PLUS a Jacuzzi hot tub PLUS a balcony with an amazing view of the harbor are available. Oh, and they have a great outdoor pool. Sun or shade options and water that feels just right (I actually brought a thermometer with me this time and it was 81 degrees. Cool - not cold - but just refreshing enough). One of these times we will try the kayaks they offer. We just get so involved in other activities we always forget. Now, just so you don't think I only see the great things and nothing of the less great, I'll be honest that there are a couple of things I think they could work on. The pool had very few lounge chairs this time. That has not been an issue before but I guess something happened to them, and for all I know there are a bunch on order. Small stuff. They had plenty of regular pool chairs, so it was a minor thing. Its a pretty big, sprawling inn, and its New England. Pretty brutal winters. There are always going to be a few small things that need a little work. I was glad to see that the few I noticed last summer were taken care of since then. And they seem to be even more attentive to landscaping / flowers etc. these days. Its really stunning when you drive in and around. We are always a little sad when we leave, knowing we won't be back for another year, but isn't that a great way to feel? You should miss it . . . . just like you are so eager when the time to come back returns! The Inn takes

If in Mystic this is a great stay option! Passing through Mystic on our way to Newport RI we booked into this Inn for an overnight stay. Our room was very clean and reasonably priced,,including a very good breakfast. It had a lovely view out over the local waterway. The restaurant and bar which is part of the Inn complex was great for an evening drink and meal.

Great hotel, careful on paying extra for “water view”. Staff was great, from front desk, to workers in dinning hall for breakfast, to grounds staff. Everyone was very friendly. Paid extra for a room with a water view. Was given 2 queen bed room with water view that was terrible. Had to sit sideways to see the water. Talked to front desk and was given super romantic king room with fireplace, instead. This room was awesome! Romantic, with great views. Bed was very comfortable. Size of room was great. The shower area could use some updating. The hotel has a very nice restaurant and is located close enough to town to leave the car and walk. (About a mile, one way.)

Not good but not expensive They put is into a room that was so hot that we were sweating, and when we asked about a room change they were dealing with another couple that they had double booked. They list kayaks as available but told us that they weren't available as the season hadn't started (it was late April). I wouldn't stay here again as it didn't feel like the staff really knew what they were doing. It was relatively cheap, though.
