So inflexible and disappointing! I am so disappointed in Jared Coffin House - my husband and I had booked to stay here for our wedding anniversary. At first our ferry from New York was canceled due to Tropical Storm Debby but as we were so looking forward to the trip we decided to book a flight to Nantucket. Unfortunately once we got to JFK our flight also got canceled, so there was physically no way of getting to the island. Despite explaining all of this, we were not given a refund even though the circumstances were obviously far out of our control. I will never book with them again.

Our favorite place to stay We stayed at the Jarod Coffin house many times and always when we visit Nantucket.
It is an attractive historic property very close to the epicenter of downtown. Close to many nice restaurants and shopping.
They have on-site parking in the back, which is hugely helpful if you foolishly rent a car like we do.
The restaurant and bar they now contract with on the lower floor is pretty good. The bartenders are quite expert.
All the rooms now have air-conditioning. The downside is that some of the rooms are extremely small including a tiny bathrooms. Better to check the room out when you get on site and see if it works. There is definitely a wide variety of room sizes. Also, you can anticipate dealing with stairs to get up and down from the room unless you get something on the first floor. We have always been stuck climbing stairs, but that’s OK.
The staff this year seemed all Jamaican, but they were very pleasant and enthusiastic. No problems.
They have a free shuttle service, which takes you anywhere around the town to and from for essentially no inconvenience. We found this extremely helpful.

International travel outage I had planned to stay at the Jared Coffin house on Nantucket Island for the first time for my birthday. Unfortunately we got stuck in the middle of the International travel outage and were stuck on the west coast. Tara and Megan at the Jared Coffin house went above and beyond to help us cancel our reservation after the booking cutoff time. They made my birthday special despite the travel chaos. I look forward to seeing Nantucket in the future.

Clean, Great Staff, Close to Town Stayed three nights in a single room on the 2nd floor. The carpeted room was very clean and had all the expected and desired amenities. Comfy single bed with two pillows, towels were good quality, shower has body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. Closet contains safe as well as iron and board. Window AC worked well and was quiet. There is no elevator in the hotel but accessibility can be achieved by entering a rear door off the parking lot and there are about 3 first-floor rooms. For others there are two staircases. Staff members were always friendly and very helpful and accommodating. Continental breakfast is set up in the parlor and includes bread, bagels, and baked goods, coffee, milk, juices, yogurt, cold cereal – acceptable but nothing beyond ordinary. Decor features antique furnishings and lots of vintage portraits and other paintings which creates a nice ambiance. While this was a convenient and comfortable stay and I do recommend the hotel, the price paid per night was fairly high — more than a New York City hotel for me. So, if I come back, I may come at another time of year when prices may be more reasonable if that's possible. The hotel has bikes available and a courtesy car which is very nice.

Excellent Stay This is an excellent in-town Nantucket option. Our room was spacious for a historic property and the bathroom was well appointed with nice towels and amenities. The window air conditioner worked well. Breakfast was basic, and there are more robust options nearby if you need them. The staff was warm and welcoming, and housekeeping was thorough. Be advised you may need to walk up two flights of stairs.
