Eola closed What a surprise! Went on TA, made the reservation through their site. Got an email confirmation from Eola Natchez. Arrived tonight at the hotel and it was pitch black dark. Called the number and was forwarded to the Guest House a couple of blocks down. This is fine, but not the Eola Hotel. You've been warned!

Old world Charm Enjoyed the cool Architecture and decor of this unique Hotel! Rare large balcony overlooking the River was nice. Room key would not work twice but minor annoyance. Not all the amenities of a newer larger Hotel but worth it for the experience. Also centrally located.

Sorry Eola! I really need to preface this review by saying that I was in the area with 102 members of The Decorative Arts Trust and that we all were well taken care of and the symposium needs were met. And, that I, as a single, mature woman, felt safe during my five night stay. That said, it was probably the dingiest place I have ever stayed in my whole life. Let's be clear about the distinction between dingy and dirty - nothing the diligent housekeepers could ever do would make it feel clean. So sad, because with new carpet, wallpaper and paint it could be pretty fabulous. My bed was clean and comfy (once I folded up the ugly bedspread and hid it in the closet). Well, maybe new bathrooms, too.....the tile in my shower had coats of paint over the tiles.... I did hear talk that perhaps it's going to be converted into condos? I do hope there is hope for this grande dame......and for this historic area and town....

Nice and Convenient The Eola is a beautiful place. The lobby and courtyard are exceptional. However, I did feel the rooms were in need of some updating (bedding, curtains, lighting, ect).
The breakfast buffett was good and reasonably priced. This room over looked the amazing courtyard.
The hotel is in a great location. Once we parked and unloaded our belongings we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, restaurants, bars, the horse and buggy rides, the river and even the casinos.

Old charm but needs attention We stayed at the Eola Hotel in historic Natchez, and it certainly has a quaint sort of charm, but that said it really needs attention.
Whilst charming it comes over as rather tired and scruffy in areas. The bedrooms are small and unwelcoming, and breakfast is distinctly average, with poor choice, and poor service.
It is in the centre of Natchez, and as a result was very noisy in the early mornings.
