Great experience overall We stayed at the Sheraton Boston Needham Hotel while there for a family wedding. Overall, it was a great experience. The people at the front desk, housekeeping, and the director of rooms and related were all just wonderful (special shout out to Demitrus Glover and Silvia Muentes-Lopez for extra kudos). The bed was super comfy (1 king bed) and the pillows are ok. There was outside seating and tables available, which we really appreciated. Only one area had room for improvement: As I am immunocompromised, we do not eat in restaurants indoors. One evening we got food to go from a restaurant and a bottle of wine from a liquor store. We wanted to enjoy these in our room. The front desk did not have a wine opener, so we were told to go to the bar, where the bartender opened it and charged $5 for it, saying it was the hotel policy. He was very kind, and it's not his fault, but that did seem like gouging. Why not put wine openers in rooms, or at least have one to borrow at the front desk? I'd stay there again in a heartbeat (but next time will pack a wine opener).

Rooms Too Small and Beware of the "Club Floor" We opted for the "club floor". When we checked in around 11PM, the agent did not explain what that entailed or where it was. We discovered it by accident (asking the front desk for bottled water) and were directed to a room off of the dining room. We were then informed that it would be closed that day (Friday) at 5PM and would not open until Monday. We were able to have breakfast there on Monday morning and it was dismal. Who leaves bread sitting out uncovered? The fruit was not ripe and the other choices were scary. Pre-packaged yogurt was good. The room was exceedingly SMALL. I could touch both walls in the bathroom. Tiny. Not sure why they can charge extra for the club floor when it was closed 2 of the 4 days we were there. Nicer places to stay in Boston. We will not be back

Service - Payment I checked in on 4/16/2024 and the lady at the checkin desk asked for my credit card. I explained that this was being paid on the company credit card that was on file. She explained that she only needed by personal cc and license to provide the mobile key for me. I then provided my debit card to her. When i checked out on 4/18/2024 I was charged for the complete amount on my personal card. I went to the desk to inquire and was told that there wasn't an authorization on file for the business card (I was never told one was needed). To top this off because I provided my debit card I was charged the full charge and then had another "pending" charge for the same amount. This left me almost $900 short at this time. I believe staff need to understand the importance of fully explaining things. Had I been told this upfront i would have provided a "credit card" so I didn't end up with this.....

Convenient for Boston College We are frequent visitors to Boston and, frankly, are just over it when it comes to hotels in town: prices are exorbitant, parking is difficult, and the subway is slow. The Sheraton Needham is a breath of fresh air. It's right off the highway and an excellent jumping off point for driving into Boston, Cambridge, or surrounding towns. We'll be back for our next visit to our child at Boston College. No, the area around the hotel (Panera, gas station, small office and retail buildings) doesn't have the charm of a central Boston neighborhood, and I'd recommend having a car to get around - but the price of the hotel more than makes up for it. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, and the beds are comfortable. This wouldn't be the hotel I'd choose if coming to town for the first time to walk the Freedom Trail or see the Sox, but it's a fantastic choice if you're visiting any of the schools west of, say, Back Bay. BC, BU, Northeastern, Wellesley, Brandeis were all no more than 15-20 minutes away. My family also appreciated that though the bathroom has been remodeled, it still has a real door - not one of those barn doors or glass doors that are trendy but not great for a family sharing a room.

Nice Experience We stayed for 1 night at the Sheraton Needham and were almost completely satisfied, the one exception being the noisiness of the ventilation system. The breakfast at the hotel was surprisingly good, if a little more expensive than appropriate. All of the staff was most accommodating.
