Tranquility and beauty at its best. Just are just heading home from a wonderful stay here, we chose to stay Fri-Sun to attend my sons wedding at Somerley house and we were not disappointed. The staff are very welcoming, hotel is well looked after and feels homely which is rare for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was yummy, only feedback for improvement would be chef needs to practice poached eggs as I spotted eggshell in one of mine and neither eggs were runny, and clearing table needs to be much quicker. Spa is recommended and the hydrapools are fantastic, we live a few hours away and spent 12 hours at the wedding but we felt like we had an Amazing spa break and 100% we want to return again, that’s a first for us for a staycation.

I'm surprised Ian Livingstone has let Chewton Glen Decline Like This This was our second visit. The first was around a decade ago and was superb. However, this second visit was frankly disappointing. The whole place now feels a bit unloved, and in need of a refurb. The service level has fallen away. It is now very hit or miss. It feels understaffed for the number of customers. The quality of the food has marketedly gone backwards too. In short, the special feeling you had from staying at Chewton has been lost. It's no longer a luxury haven or relaxing place to stay, it feels almost average. The one exception to this is the bill. I am well used to paying for luxury, but i don't like to pay top dollar, for very average service in an unloved poorly maintained building. Currently, Chewton Glen suffers from this identify crisis. It needs a new SMT who care and who train the staff, and an investment plan to upgrade and refurb the facilities. A few cool trees houses on their own do not make a top hotel.....! The raft of poor reviews underline this.

80th Birthday Celebration Lunch 80th Birthday Celebration Lunch I feel I must write and tell you what a wonderful occasion this was. It was a very happy time for all of us long-time friends. We were hugely impressed by the service and care of your very well-trained staff. They were so polite and helpful. (They even helped us place our napkins on our laps!) And the food was absolutely superb. It was a very special occasion that we shall always remember. Please convey our thanks to everyone concerned. Elisabeth and Anthony Howard

EXCELLENT HOTEL!!! Our family loved it! Excellent hotel!! Very warm, lovely and helpful staff. Lauren at reception was such a sweet and kind lady. And the manager, Paris was very helpful. Our suite was clean, comfy and very spacious. The selection of hot teas were so good. For a tea-loving person like me, I enjoyed the green teas and the other herbal teas. Beds were fantastic and comfy. The bathroom was spacious and immaculately clean. Our kids had a lovely night’s sleep too. And the grounds of the property were so gorgeous. I definitely recommend Chewton Glen. We will be back for sure!!

A wonderful stay Our stay at Chewton Glen was absolutely magical. The staff, food, room and facilities were second to none. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who was looking for a special treat as you are really looked after. I would encourage everyone to try the fantastic food at the Kitchen. We were even offered a lift down to the restaurant in a golf buggy to avoid the rain !
