Pros and Cons but Location is a Big Pro This hotel is located well to the French Quarter. It's about a 10 minute walk to Jackson Square. In the morning there is a Cafe Beignet around the corner. The staff was nice and helpful. The bathroom off the lobby was large and clean. The pool was heated and clean. Nice lounge area around it although there were no towels and no one to help in the lobby for quite a while. The balcony was nice. The beds and the bathroom were small. Neither seemed standard in size. We did have one scary moment in the hotel. My son and I got on the elevator on the second floor and hit lobby. The doors shut and the elevator moved a bit and then just stopped. We were stuck at least 5 minutes and nothing seemed to alert anyone. When we finally started moving again it said we were getting off at the lobby but it was the 3rd floor. We warned a woman getting on the elevator but she got on anyway. We watched the floor indicator and it seemed like she didn't get stuck. We discussed taking the stairs but we had our suitcases with us so we rolled the dice and got on the elevator and made it to the lobby. When we informed the staff they said "Oh no! We'll let maintenance know." They didn't seem overly concerned. I was a bit freaked out. I mean it ended fine but 5+ minutes is felt like a long time.

Quaint and great location Quaint with a great location. All staff encountered were super polite, professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. No bell staff. They have a pool - we didn’t use it but there were some people there. Definitely has the Nola feel. Could do with some updating. Carpet by the balcony doors felt wet after the afternoon rains.

Unsafe! Unreliable! Lies! We stayed in a very nice King Suite on the 1st floor. We loved the room, until someone tried to enter in the middle of the night. Around 3 a.m. we woke up when someone opened the door to our room. The light came in and we immediately yelled. The door was opened about two inches and we could not see the person. We screamed some profanity and they left. We called the front desk 2 or 3 three times, but nobody answered. We called the concierge's desk in the lobby and nobody answered. We called the police. Two officers arrived and took our statement. A few minutes later a desk clerk came back with the officers and said he would pull the video recordings. They left. After about 20 minutes I went to the desk to see what happened as a result of reviewing the video. I was told there was no video cameras in the area of our room. We checked out first thing in the morning, but asked the person on duty if she had heard what happened, to which she responded that she was aware. I asked if anybody had reviewed the records to show the scan entry into our room around 3 a.m. and was told only a manager could do that and to check back later. Later in the day I called the hotel and spoke to a female manager that gave me the run-around and then accused me of making the entire thing up or having left our door open. I will tell you right now, the door was closed, and the turn lock inside on the door was locked. There was no safety bar that you swing from the frame over a ball on the door. The doors require a scan card. She informed me that she reviewed the computer record of scans for our room and there was nothing around that time. I asked if we could see the records and she said no, I would have to have an attorney request them. I was extremely upset after the conversation with her. I proceeded to call IHG Corporate and logged a complaint for the break-in as well as the behavior of the manager I spoke to. Not long after, a gentleman called and indicated he was the general manager of the hotel. He heard my entire story and indicated that he had reviewed the scan records and that there was no entry into the room around 3 a.m. He said that there was one between 3:30 and 4 a.m., which is when I came back from the front desk after inquiring about the video coverage. He proceeded to tell me that the only other scan from that day was the previous evening sometime after 7 p.m. We were on a dinner cruise on the Steamboat Natchez from the time we boarded shortly after 6:00 pm until the boat returned to the docks at 9 p.m. We have proof; we purchased tickets and we had pictures taken onboard the boat during the cruise, and the payment for the pictures is date/time stamped with my financial institution. We were not the ones that entered the room sometime after 7 p.m. After our river cruise ended around 9:00 pm we took a taxi to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, then returned to the hotel closer to 11 pm, which they don't show a scan when we entered our room for the evening. We don't know what happened. It may have been a stranger, or it may have been an employee, but needless to say, we were scared. And then to make things worse, they accused us of being at fault or lying, when it is clear something else is going on. This is not the end of this. Hotel Indigo is where we stayed the next night after getting the dodge out of here. Be cautious, be alert, be safe, and don't trust them to look out for you.

Horrible Experience I am not sure where to begin. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at an IHG property. I have stayed at IHG properties all over the world. Most issues have always been minor. Any issue was usually resolved and/or addressed with care. That is not the case at this location. I have not been disrespected and humiliated to this extent in a very long time. I had reserved during a FLASH sale because I was coming to New Orleans to help my son find housing. He is attending Tulane Law School in the fall. We were unsure exactly how long we would be there. We only knew it would be until we secured housing. I inquired upon my arrival about extending the stay and was told it would not be an issue. I also explained I was certain it would be 3 nights, but I needed 2 nights booked separately because Tulane was reimbursing my son for 2 nights. The young lady was very kind and said she didn't know how to add his name or print out the receipt for the 2 nights, but someone could help me in the morning. The next morning I asked to add my son's name, told her why and the lady asked how to spell his name. Saturday I inquired at the front desk about extending the stay, as I had mentioned Thursday evening during check in. I then asked if I needed to book online through the app to get my discounted rate of $123 and was told, "you can, but I can do it for you". I let her do it, trusting her with the rate. We secured housing Saturday and stayed one more night Sunday. I called Sunday, stated the same thing, was told it could be done over the phone and allowed her to do so. Imagine my surprise when upon checking out I was charged almost double for Saturday and Sunday! This is after explicitly asking about the rate both times. The young lady was very rude when I couldn't describe every person I had spoken to over five days. I told her I had talked to different people and she rudely snapped, "well, there are a lot of people who work here." She went and got another employee from the back. Things got worse from here. She refused to make an accommodation or understand my frustration. I told her I specifically asked about booking in the app and getting the reduced rate. SHE is the one who booked it Saturday when I was face to face. SHE is also the one who added my son's name. I told her exactly why his name needed to be shown. Not once did she ever say it would not show. So now, not only is my bill more, I will not get reimbursed because of her negligence and lack of care. I never raised my voice, cursed, or made any type of threat. ALL I did was try to explain and get help. The entire time I was trying to explain, the other worker was talking under breath and tapping the computer screen, thus interrupting. It was very unprofessional. This employee went on to say, "The rate stands" and "the buck stops with me" when I asked who could try to help. What professional says things like that when someone is upset and trying to get help? Again, very unprofessional. I also have traveled enough that I KNOW SHE could have made an adjustment IF she cared. Since returning, I have also reviewed some very concerning valet dash cam video. I can;t get anyone to give me the contact information for the valet service.
