Perfect City club is perfectly located with easy access to transport and theaters. The rooms are comfortable and “classy” - the bathrooms are lavishly done in marble. There’s a generous and varied breakfast in the morning. I’ve stayed here before and certainly will again.

Scammers Checked in and was told I received an upgrade (this was a lie, keep reading). My room reeked of cigarettes to the point where I couldn't sleep. My nostrils burned with every breath I took. When I tried to change rooms, the front desk told me there were no other rooms available (again, how could I get an upgrade if there's no other rooms?). When I tried to get a refund, they told me I booked through Expedia and needed to contact them. The next day, expedia is tells me I paid at the hotel and they can't do anything. Someone is lying, and it's probably city club hotel. I ended up across the street at a similarly priced hotel that was a lot nicer and cheaper. I'm out $170 which is disappointing since I was only at this hotel for 30 minutes. I've never stayed at hotel that a) provided an inhospitable room b) had not back up options c) lied to my face to get me to leave.

Cockroaches and rude staff One of the worst hotel experiences we've had. The staff is rude and very slow (especially at the front desk). The rooms are dirty, dusty and outdated, and to make things worse we had cockroaches in the bathroom. After mentioning this at the front desk we were promised a refund for 1 night (which we never got). The beds are old, small and hard. It's just wrong to pay $500+ per night per room and get an experience like this. Unfortunately we stayed here for 5 nights. Breakfast was alright, the lady was friendly and the food was ok. The other positive thing is the location.

Dirty and Beaten Down City Club has been run hard and put away wet. It is just beat up all over, from the dirty dingy elevator rug to the sad and TINY rooms. My room featured a broken mirror with tape, peeling and spotted wallpaper, and broken shower tiles. The bathroom floor is made of cork I believe, and it sinks a bit in places. The closet is behind a hidden door and if you are a contortionist you may actually be able to access the mini bar inside. All of this came with a “facilities fee” for what I have no idea. Pros: front desk day person was nice. There’s a lounge with booths where I was able to work for a bit post check out. Until I was asked to leave because a “private event” was going to take place which—if you saw the size of the space—was difficult to believe. Great location near Times Square and grand central.
