Thrifty hotel price and service This hotel is no frills, basic. Both the physical and service level aspects of my stay. My room was worn, and the couch had rips in it. If you need water or a bathrobe, none are provided in the room - but you can call down and request these items. Also, if you require refrigeration of items, there is not a refrigerator in the room, but you can get a bucket of ice from the bar. This is truly a DIY experience. When I needed assistance on my first morning, it was tough to reach the front desk or operator through calling on the phone as no one answered after six calls. It's best to physically go downstairs to make a request. The good news is that the servers at the bar are attentive and hospitable.

This hotel takes unauthorised money from your credit card Awful experience- hotel has taken unauthorised money from my credit card and not returned my money I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights from 24 to 30 th March on a prepaid British airways holiday. upon check out I was informed that there were no additional costs or charges and the holding charge would be removed from my credit card . Upon returning to UK on 31 st March I was shocked to find I had been charged $262 by the hotel - !! I had to incurred any additional charge or costs I have been emailing the hotel numerous occasions but no response! Totally unprofessional and unacceptable I will have to take this matter further This is fraudulently/ do not stay at this hotel you run the risk of having unauthorised money taken from your account

Not a good morning experience I love the vibe of this hotel, BUT - I was very disappointed with no coffee or room service in the morning. There is a cafe downstairs but sometimes doesn't open till later in the morning. According to the staff, you have to walk to a nearby cafe if you want any of that. There was a note in the room saying to enjoy the free water but there was no water. They do not email your receipt so if you need that you have to checkout in person.

Shady hotel practices and poor services I was double charged for my stay and insteade of reversing the charge, the solution proposed by the manager Samir Reynolds was to get me to pay a more expensive rate than I had booked under. Very shady practice. In addition, the room was either too hot or too cold. The sink is in the actual Room, not the bathroom and did not drain properly. The bathroom is tiny the shower did not seal so when you used it, water would leak out into the bathroom floor and then all over actual room as well. Terrible hotel overall.

Great location - poor customer service I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in March. I booked for the location - which is 5 stars - however, I had a very disappointing stay. The King room is small but fine for NYC hotel standards - it did feel a bit tired and in need of a refresh, but it was clean. One thing that I really didn't like about the hotel was how you didn't need a hotel room key to access the elevator to the hotel floors - so anyone could walk off the street and access the hotel (if there were security at the hotel they weren't very visible). This made me (a female solo traveller) feel unsafe at night - as I would often hear drunk guests come back in the early hours and try to open doors, not knowing if they were guests or people trying to break in. This might not be an issue for a couple travelling together or a solo man. To make myself feel safer I just slept with my suitcase blocking my door. The other issue I have with the hotel is being charged for bar items that I didn't order/consume. It appears the previous room occupier made charges to the room that ended up on my bill. I've emailed 4 times the hotel to ask for them to remove the charges (luckily my flight details show I wasn't even in the US at the time of the charges) but I've had no response from the hotel. This is really poor customer service. As part of the room charges, they state they include bottled water - but my room didn't get any and judging by the long lines at reception with other guests complaining, nobody else seemed to get any of this promised water. They do have a water cooler in the hotel gym - so there is that option.
