Great Location We were at this hotel in April 2019, a year before the pandemic. When I visit cities with my family, what I want from a hotel is cleanliness and a good location, and the Stanford Hotel guarantees that. Breakfast was reasonable (mainly fruit, yogurt, cereal and bagels). The most important thing was clearly the location, in the center of the Korean neighborhood, 50 meters from the subway, behind the Empire State Building and 600 meters from Times Square.

Great location The location of this hotel is fabulous, particularly if you plan on arriving and departing from Penn Station as it is just one and a bit blocks from the 7th Avenue exit, in Koreatown. It puts you within walking distance of the Empire State building, Times Square, Macy's. It isn't even that far to walk to the Rockefeller Centre (about 16 blocks), which we did one night, to enjoy the Christmas lights and see the huge tree. We had a junior suite with two double beds. It was clean, the beds comfy and the room was larger than expected. Although it had a sofa, it had seen better days and was not at all comfortable. Good shower and bathroom facilities and fairly quiet (there was minor noise from the hallway). The lift was pretty slow and in demand, resulting in us frequently taking the stairs. On our arrival, we were early for check in and they suggested we sit in the bar/breakfast room and have a free coffee whilst we waited which was nice (however, as this room is multipurpose, you can only use it as such depending on the time of day). It sounds petty to say that the 'continental' breakfast is awful. It's not bad but it lacks imagination and effort. Half a sandwich (you don't actually know what's in it), yoghurt, a mini croissant and an apple or banana, every day, no variation. Okay for one day but quickly became mind numbingly boring. The hotel does provide luggage storage which we used as we had a late flight. It wasn't the cheapest hotel and despite the good location and everything being quite acceptable, I would probably try another hotel next time.

Great location The best feature of this hotel for us was its location. It’s close to some great restaurants and shopping, and is within walking distance from the Madison Square Garden. The worst feature of the hotel was the uncomfortable mattress. The room was not bad, but the carpet was not clean. I wouldn’t say filthy, but it could have used a god cleaning or shampooing. We couldn’t rest well due to the very uncomfortable mattress. Stayed two night and will not be going back.

Great location Great location, one block from Empire State Building, Macys, Time Square and 10/15 minutes walk to Central Park. Subway nearby also. Reasonable priced buffet breakfast offered. Room was on 11th floor, clean and fair size, however they do need an update. Very tired looking. Our window looked on to blank wall but wonder if a front room on to main street would have been noisy.

Convenient and comfortable Hotel Stanford is a reasonably priced hotel that is very close to Penn station which makes it extremely convenient. Although the check in was a bit slow, the room, albeit small, was clean and had everything I needed for my visit. Don’t count too much on the breakfast because it was just a croissant and a yogurt, plus there wasn’t any place to sit down so I had to go elsewhere for breakfast..The hotel is in the middle of Koreatown so if you like Korean food you have lots of choices nearby.
