Old world charm, Front desk needs to be warm and better trained. Old world charm but not a warm front desk. Check in took forever, did not get a warm welcome the receptionist Natalie was very cold and snum. Her attitude was very off and anti taj. The other person who explained the room could hardly muster a smile. Other than the front desk everyone were top notch including the house keeping staff. point of contact staff at the elevators. Did not see any senior management present in the lobby welcoming guests. A better front desk that is more trained will be a true asset. Otherwise great room and fantastic location. Another point to consider I received 4 reminders to return a usb plug including a letter, again not very taj like especially after I had informed them. Rooms should have updated electrical sockets to reflect the era we are in and not inconvenience guests, constant nagging for a small adapter did not augur well. These are areas that the property should train its staff on.

Fantastic stay and experience Appreciate the hospitality of the entire team right from checkin checkout to housekeeping, concierge, experience planning services (Mr. Leo) and all the other team members in support services (lift, security etc) at the hotel. Special thanks to the Perrine team (dinner and breakfast) - absolutely delicious food and very pleasant team to meet. They took special care per our food requests and great hospitality. Overall was a great experience - it’s a beautiful property and with the services absolutely reminiscent of the Taj stays back home and anywhere else globally.

A lovely, classic hotel This is an elegant, old world hotel doing it right. Impeccably maintained, well staffed with friendly employees, and located right in the heart of it all. Central Park across the street, the beautiful UES right out the side door, and all of the hustle and bustle close at hand should you need it. Our room was blissfully quiet and elegant. Everything was fresh and lovely. We’ve stayed at several really excellent hotels in Manhattan but as far as large, full service hotels go, this one is hard to beat.
