Stranded! The building was locked and no way to call! I had booked a stay here in early June 2021. When I arrived at the hotel, the door to the building was inaccessible, blocked by a winter-style wind guard that they have outside building entrances in the winter, and that was locked. I was unable to reach any other door, or phone number with a human being, there was simply no way to access my building so I had to scramble to find other accommodations for the weekend at an additional cost. The hotel has accepted zero responsibility for this predicament and is now fighting me to continue to charge me for staying in their inaccessible building. There is still no way to talk to a human being at the hotel - try yourself. I would have loved to stay here. Unfortunately, this hotel spectacularly failed to provide the services paid for.

Budget but great location We have recently returned from a break in NYC. We booked to stay here as we didnt see the point in spending alot of money on a hotel when we would be out for most of the day. We booked a double room however on arrival it was far to small for us I'd say the bed was actually a 3/4, with my partner been 6'5 his feet stuck out of the end of the bed and the room was very small, so I asked at reception if we could upgrade and we did the new room was far better. I personally would go for a twin or king room.pending on your size. You could hear the traffic but it didnt keep us awake during the night. The room was clean, however it was very dated it needed some TlC it would benefit from spending some money on new bedding and towels and the valance on the bed was ripped. The room was replenished every day, coffee topped up etc. It's a perfect location been next to canal subway station, this was amazing and we loved using the subway, take the R line uptown to time square and downtown back to canal street. Lower Manhattan has alot of shops to explore aswel as china town/little Italy. We think the reception guy was called Mike (I'm sorry If that is not your name) he could not have been more helpful, we often stopped to have a chat with him he is an asset to the hotel. We would book this hotel again, but would go for the queen suit as they are newly refurbished and bigger. Overall we enjoyed our stay and slept very well.

Small but clean place near the subways I stayed at this hotel over New Year week. If you are looking for something very basic just to rest your head, and close to the subways, this could be your place. The room was small but clean. Think about the size as a small bedroom, with a comfortable bed, TV, and desk. The bathroom looked relatively new. The Wi-Fi was on the weak side, for the most part, and there was no room temperature controls, so when the heat was on, I had to open the window. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to a lot of the subway lines with the Q and R being right outside the front door. If you have not stayed around Canal Street, just be prepared for a lot of street noise and vendors trying to sell you knock-off Prada bags and Rolex watches. Overall, not a bad place. I would consider staying there again.

Stayed 2 nights, 3 days on a weekend as a couple Staff were courteous, accommodating, and friendly. Bathroom and room were spacious and clean enough given the price and location. I was very hesitant after booking this hotel through a secret sale and reading negative reviews. I was very satisfied in the end. Perhaps mgmt has changed since the negatives, but the place is just fine now for all travelers who prefer character and lower price compared to the bigger names. Recommended. We were able to check in a bit early due to availability. They were gracious in holding bags at 8am and until late the day of our departure for no charge. They have a key-access washroom if you have checked out, leave bags for later pickup, and need to freshen before leaving the city. There's a great cafe within 25 feet. There are 2 subway stops very close to the hotel entrance. The hotel and most all buildings in this area are older. Road sounds, car horns will penetrate the windows/walls. You will hear the normal city sounds all hours of the day. If you need absolute silence, you should go elsewhere. Staff was wonderful. Iron, simple coffee maker, the basics. Bed was comfortable. Great find if you want simple and affordable. They make a great effort. Very happy!
