Thinnest walls ever! Thinnest walls ever! Not only did I have to listen to both rooms surrounding mine, playing their television (at moderate levels), I got to hear the conversation and cell phone tones well into the evening when I would typically try to sleep. Did I mention the the bathroom noises too? I just am thankful that neither party seems to be in the mood for bed room activities! Other wise, it is a decent hotel, but seriously bring your own white noise, fan, anything to cover sounds if you want to sleep before 11pm. And understand to get the AC to work, you have to power off the thermostat then when it clicks back on, immediately drop the temperature to your requirements, other wise you are in for a sweaty sleep. Pillows are nice though.

A nice hotel with friendly staff I was in town for business. I chose to stay here. I had room 242 with a two room king bed suite. I was greeted at the front desk who was helpful in getting my digital key to work on my phone. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. They don't have a true bar in the hotel, but for the manager reception they have a small area set up for drinks and light snacks. They had complimentary beers and wines along with others at a nominal fee. The attendant was very friendly. The breakfast set up was great with make to order eggs along with sides. Overall, a nice place to relax while on a trip to the area.

Broken elevators Let me say at the outset that I did not originally reserve space in this hotel. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I enjoy staying at different properties at any given location. Having once already stayed at this Embassy Suites before (and gave a good review here) back in 2015, for my return to Newark I decided to stay next door at the Homewood Suites, a much smaller and seemingly quieter building than the Atrium style that defines most Embassy Suites. However the day before my stay, Homewood called me and said they had overbooked, and moved my reservation next door to this Embassy Suites. With not much choice since I had train trips involving the Newark station already booked, I went along with this. Upon entering the hotel, I found a sign near the two elevators that they were being serviced. True, only one was working and the other was parked at the second floor. This caused long waits and crowding in the remaining elevator once it did come. But furthermore, the "working" elevator, when I needed to go downstairs from the 5th floor, was skipping my floor. Despite pressing the button and waiting, it would bypass the 5th floor and the indicator light on the button would just go out. So I ended up going to one of the stairways located in the corner of the building. When I got to the ground floor, the only exit was outside, rather than into the lobby. Good thing it was not too cold outside as I had no jacket. From that point, I took to using the opposite stairway in the back of the lobby that did have access from inside. The room itself was OK in size, as was the bathroom. There were no issues with WiFi, TV, nor climate control. Breakfast was the high point of the stay; that has not deteriorated although it was more self service than the time I had been there before. Overall, my last memory of the hotel was the walk down the stairs with my heavy luggage. Since I had to walk and catch a train at the station a mile away, I did not wish to wait an eternity for an elevator that might never show up. It was be my last memory ever.

Loud, broken elevators, no sleep, awful pull out couch, poor upkeep Booked a suite and got placed RIGHT next to the extremely loud, usually broken elevator that slams closed and often doesnt even work. The entire hotel is SO LOUD. Currently writing this at 11:30 pm and there is constant yelling echoing from the open lobby (i’m on the sixth floor and the sound is traveling way to much.) awful pull out couch with springs stabbing you in the back. no sleep. worst place ever
