OYO Waves Hotel Newport OR - NYE Beach

Average room not worth cost The rooms where ok..we paid for full ocean view and the first night when we got in the bed was broken and we spoke to the girl in the office ( that was amazing!) She told us that our new room would be ready later in the afternoon. When we got back later that day there was a new girl in the office she had horrible CS and they down graded us because the room still wasn't ready, and we were really tired from not sleeping well and had to go find something to do all day waiting for our new room, instead of relaxing on our vacation. They wouldn't refund the difference in pay for the room that we were told is a partial view, earlier that morning. When I questioned her for manager phone number she treated me horribly and told me that if there is a problem we can't stay at hotel. I was dumbfounded by the way they treat a customer. The ocean view room didn't have a screen on one window and the other window had a big hole in it so I wasn't able to open the window to listen to the beach or enjoy the breeze. I wouldn't recommend this hotel as a 5 or even 4 star hotel. The pictures are not even what we thought what we were getting.

It’s ok I guess Stayed here after not being able to get a room at a few national chain hotels farther from the beach. I’ll give it a firm ‘it’s ok I guess’ however it cost the same as the chains soooo yeah. Room was clean & had touches of updates but done very haphazardly & cheap. No carpet in the room but with the sand it’s kind of understandable however there a lot of noise from the room above us. There was a small fridge with rust, microwave and Kurig coffee pot (with 9 pods so that was nice). The hotel is on a bit of a bluff so to get to the beach you need to walk about 2 blocks down the road to the busy Nye beach access area. Breakfast is open from 8-10am. It consisted of bagels & English muffins with butter or cream cheese, string cheese, yogurt, mandarin orange cups, cereal & oatmeal packets. The lesson is: Make reservations ahead of time if you want to stay in this town during the busy season, even on a week night.

gentle presence Serel=nely and peacefully located. A motel that underdeclares itself. Excellent receptionist, kind,articulate, informative, patient. The rooms a bit street exposed, with all the basic amenities. Location near the beach standing above the competing providers. We came across it when we reached the town and despite the mushroom appearance of lots of motels we reckon that this stands on tis own formidably. Nice colours, fine structure

Needs refresh. The hotel is in a great location but, is definitely shabby but, it was clean. Do not expect any service at the front desk they do not answer the phones after you book, respond to emails. I had questions but, even after booking using VM, internet and phone calls I never get a response back until the day after I checked in. My credit card was already charged. There is NOT a breakfast except coffee and a few processed doughnuts. The ice machine never worked, and they do not clean the rooms for a 2 night, so you have to go and get fresh towels. They said, when done throw your towels and garbage outside door and housecleaning will retrieve, the garbage from the room was still outside door after 2 days and also at others door. Also, on the view side a very broken-down RV in the lot and outside on the street you could see people living in it. The girl at front desk was nice when we checked in but, I think it comes from management. WE did like the large room, and we did get a last minute 2 weeks prior discount on 3rd floor oceanfront room . Because of the view and price we tolerated it but, paying more we would not ever do here. Nye beach was awesome.

Don't believe all the amenities listed. Horrible. Stayed 2 horrible nights. booked by Casablanca Express through timeshare presentation. The oyo waves hotel was supposed to be an upgrade we paid additional charge for instead of motel 6 that would have been free with timeshare presentation. Motel 6 would have been better! Half the things listed as amenities was not available. Such as : 1) no one at front desk from 10pm to 8am. If you call phone number, it says to call back at 8am. We had rowdy quests above us who were making noise and running across floor after 10pm. Notice we have to sign at check in says quiet time after 10pm. 2) No phone or clock in room to set alarm. No wake up call available since no phone. 3) no microwave or mini-fridge in room as listed. 4) no small desk or chair to put electronics on or to be able to sit and do paperwork. 5) no instructions in room on how to use TV which had 2 remotes but after having maintenance come by twice , we figured out that you had to turn on TV with small button on back of TV. 6) no elevator. Only 2 floors with staircase. ONLY compliment is that bed and pillows very comfortable.
