Outstanding America's Cup Inn This is a small inn right in the best part of downtown Newport. The rooms and inn were emacullat with a modernized bathroom. The room was a little small but had a king sized bed, tv, A/C, refrigerator, and wifi. There is a tea in the afternoon with plenty of fruit and sweets. Also, a great breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, French toast, breads, and several offers of fresh fruit. Parking in Newport is scarce, but there was a public parking lot across the street, close to several restaurants and shops, and near the harbor, all within walking distance. Also, Tyrone was working and was exceptionally helpful is guiding us on how the inn and parking operated. I would certainly recommend.

Don't Stay at America's Cup Inn While on vacation to Newport, my family stayed at the America’s Cup Inn. While staying there, we dealt with unsafe conditions and an unresponsive staff. We stayed in one of their apartments because it was pet friendly, however, the conditions in the room and the entryway were unsafe. The door to access the apartment opened inwardly into a staircase, forcing the occupant to stand on the second step in order to fully open the front door when leaving. The light switch at the bottom of the staircase had loose wiring and often did not function. The room had stained sofa/bar stools, broken lamps, sunken mattress, and rickety furniture. A fan in the wall had no cover (suspect it was previously connected to a range hood) – someone could have easily been injured or lost a finger. No smoke detectors pre-1970 existed. Electrical surges (buzzing noises) occurred when running the wall-unit air conditioners. In addition, there was no horizontal shade on the windows with the AC units, so the bright light of Buskers Pub’s upstairs storage room across the street shined right into the main bedroom until 3:00 AM each morning and we had no privacy. We complained to the staff the first night we were there, on our second to last day and finally the day we left the hotel. The staff did not communicate back after we made these complaints, and so on our last morning we demanded a response. They made no financial gesture, took no responsibility for the problems, and ultimately told us that many other people would be lining up to reserve their rooms. We believe that other potential patrons need to be made aware of the conditions of the hotel and the lack of responsiveness of the staff at The America’s Cup Inn.

Great spot in Newport Wow! We stumbled on this place in the middle of Newport and it was perfect! Clean room, beautiful furnishings and a great breakfast. This is right on the main shopping and dining street, so we had a great evening.

Centrally located The hotel has the perfect location in Newport, but we were not entirely happy with the room. It was quite old-fashioned and also smelled like that. There is parking available for 20 dollars for 24 hours. Park the car on the public parking next to the hotel and get a code at reception. The breakfast was, without a doubt, the best we had on our entire trip. Overall, I would stay there again if I found an offer at a reasonable price.
