Lots of work going on, but we made it work Let’s just preface this review with the facts: the resort contacted us by phone a few weeks before our trip scheduled for the last week in June (1st week of Primetime) to alert us the indoor/outdoor pool and spa was under construction and no pools would be open until about August. No options to cancel, reschedule, compensation, or use another hotel’s pool were offered, but we also did not ask. As one week timeshare owners, we already are locked in and I suspect our yearly maintenance fee is funding the renovations. Nonetheless, we went anyway and were happy the outdoor pool was open and the staff welcomed guests with a BBQ. The 2 kids with us enjoyed the burgers, dogs, and sodas as well as the pool. However, the construction was ever present and hard to ignore especially when ongoing digging blocked the lobby entrance and the only way to get into the main building was through the back entrance, elevator to 2nd floor, and walk to end of hallway and downstairs. Good exercise! We were lucky to be in the townhouses with a covered balcony as it rained all weekend. Would love to see more amenities available in the townhouse building at least during construction, like an ice maker & water cooler. The unit was mostly clean - the bathtub drains were clogged with hair, a reddish-brown smudge on the corner wall in the primary bedroom looked ominous, and a few drawers contained items from previous guests. Otherwise, the kitchen was well-stocked (casserole dish!) and the washer/dryer was a god-send. The text message system for requesting supplies was not functioning (suggest removing cards by phone), but as soon as we called the front desk our supplies arrived quickly. Visiting this early in the season had it’s perks - very quiet and plenty of parking spaces (when no construction), but I wonder if the resort was even close to capacity as the parking lot was empty compared to when we visit in July/Aug. I wonder if guests cancelled due to lack of pool/spa. Free parking passes to one of the beaches would have been a nice gesture to guests - Easton’s or Third Beach. The fitness center was still open and offered a not so nice view of the demo and 4 machines were out of order (not cool). The water cooler was much appreciated as the tap water tasted awful. Finally - not crazy about the new white exterior of the main building - it is fresh, clean, and new, but looks stark and not as beachy as the weathered shakes. A gray might have been a better choice and white windows, but such is life. We will get used to it and will appreciate if the gutters & drainage systems were updated as one year the bottom of the townhouses flooded due to run off from the roof and poor drainage. So - there’s hope the improvements will be worth the unsightly mess on our vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful and seemed well-trained and managed compared to previous years. The staff building dunk tank was fun to watch and made 2 little boys happy to get a chance to throw the ball. I look forward to next year.

SCAM ALERT - Extra Holidays will CANCEL last minute leaving you desperate Extra Holidays CANCELED on us last minute leaving a family of four no choice but to accept a cramped 2 bed room with suitcases full of multi wedding event attire. I will never forgive this company. They run this scam every summer and sell rooms to the highest bidder, screwing those that book too early.

They take reservations and your money, but they dont hold reservations. Rented via VRBO for a vacation in June. The Wyndham confirmed the booking in October 2023. They cancelled the booking today because they "overbooked for that time period". Seriously, this is your job, to take reservations and schedule it properly.

Most amazing vacation ever, thanks Joe! Our family vacation at the Wyndham resort in Rhode Island was nothing short of extraordinary. Guest Service Manager Joe Rosario went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. His dedication and attention to detail truly made it the best vacation we've ever had. The staff at both locations were professional and incredibly responsive whenever we needed assistance. From start to finish, our experience was seamless and enjoyable. We can't wait to return to this fantastic resort

Great place! This is the second time at Wyndham Long Wharf. The facility is clean and well maintained. Although the pool and hot tub were closed due to renovations on the building, we enjoyed our stay. There is plenty to do in Newport that we did not miss the hot tub or pool. Ok. Maybe a little bit, but it was not a big deal. Our room was spacious and had everything we could have needed. The resort is within walking distance to the downtown wharf area where the shops and restaurants are located. Other areas such as the mansions, cliff walk, parks and Fort are a short drive. We had a great time.
