Over priced and underwhelmed. Very overrated and over priced boutique hotel. Pros: nice art deco style, close to Niagara Falls and dining, good breakfast, free parking in secured lot Cons: hotel hallway wreaked of the smell of pot (not hotels fault but they did nothing about it), stains on carpet in room, A/C and other outlets cut off in room when doesn’t detect movement for 45 mins (room was always hot). What we did: spoke with hotel staff several times. They tried to be accommodating by giving us another room at 10 pm but the new room was closer to the pot smell and there was a barking dog next to us so we back to our first room that was hot. Not a good experience for what we paid! Also please note there is no turndown service, no chocolates on the pillow, etc. as the website says. If they aren’t going to do this they need to take this off the website. The hotel is not as nice as they try to sell it. I don’t recommend a stay here.

Spa suite without the spa and poor service This fascinating hotel (pronounced jack-a-mo) dates back to the art deco period and unlike the Canadian side of the falls, sadly now gaudily overdeveloped, this remains a distinct and highly visible presence on the US side. It’s ideally located too as only a very short walk to Old Falls St. with its live entertainment and hot food stalls, the pleasant State Park and of course the Falls. The staff are warm and accommodating but often missing on duty or forgetful. Towels that we asked for never appeared, the gym water cooler was neglected and empty and despite being open at 7pm the snazzy bar was abandoned on the two nights both me and other guests tried to get a pre-dinner drink - a shame as the boutique lounge is very snazzy. Annoyingly, the spa bath feature that we paid extra for wasn’t working either, which is not what you want after a three hour drive. And if you’re using the cardio equipment in the basic basement gym beware - the lights go off, disconcerting when you’re underground! Breakfast is of the ubiquitous scrambled egg/ link sausage type (what the rest of the world call chipolatas), but would it kill hotels to serve grilled tomatoes with breakfast and on a proper plates with proper cutlery? Although this hotel is hardly alone in using disposable everything, the colossal waste generated so close to the natural beauty of Niagara is quite unedifying. But that said I really enjoyed our stay in this historic building and its useful observation deck, hinting at formerly glamorous times and the 24/7 complimentary coffee is a nice touch.

If Only Our Room Was As Good As The Service. All staff very polite, helpful, courteous, attentive, and friendly. Breakfast a little bit different each day, but in a good way; tasty every time. Room=Yuk: -Had to sidestep around the bed in order to move about the room. -Large (eighteen-inch diameter) stain in carpeting. -Carpeting worn down to nothing where it met bathroom floor. -You can turn on the light at your desk, or plug in your computer, but not both. -Room lighting half-way between night light and the normal intensity you would have at home. You could see to move around but couldn't look at yourself in the mirror and adjust your clothing. -Gas cylinder in desk chair leaky. While seated at the desk, I had to stand up every two minutes, raise the chair to its full height, then begin sinking.

Clean rooms and great views! We booked our 2 bedroom suite through airbnb. This hotel is close to restaurants and souvenir shops. Our suite was large, clean, and had great views of the city & falls! They have a secure gated parking lot across the street. Would recommend to anyone staying in Niagara!

Great Hotel.. poor service Check in was easy Free parking is a great plus Room was nice Bed was comfy! Our toilet wouldn’t even flush 1 piece of toilet paper. I called to ask them to send someone to help. The lady who answered clearly didn’t want to help. I could hear the hesitation in her voice. When we went downstairs gorge evening she was sitting talking to a coworker … lazy! I called back later when we returned, and a man answered… he came up himself and helped us. The bar service needs work. We went down for a drink. Waited 10 minutes for anyone to show up and give us a menu. Bartender then left again for at least 15 minutes before coming back. We had already decided at that point to leave. It seemed she was leaving to talk to coworkers in the breakfast area. This seems to be a problem here. Too much sitting around for the employees. The lady who prepares breakfast was kind and works hard. And the men who helped at the front desk were also kind and helpful. Anyone else.. not so much. I read a review that the hotel is In a bad neighborhood. That simply isn’t true. it’s right in the thick of everything. Very easy to walk to the park and close to all the restaurants. The location is WONDERFUL… Hotel itself has many good qualities. But the customer service is VERY lacking …if that could be fixed we would stay here again. Not sure if we want to take that risk, however.
