Stayed few nights here, and it’s crazy that this kind of “ hotel” is almost 200$ per night. Needs a facelift. This place definitely needs work, even though policy says no pets, we saw pets “ service animals “ in the facility. Our room smelled like cats pee. And not to mention extremely old and not anymore white but gray towels. People at the check in are great.

Breakfast Buffet Kudos and Congratulations I specifically wanted to let corporate and the hotel know that the young lady working at the breakfast buffet deserves extra recognition. The hotel has families going to Universal Studios much more than businessmen, so they are really hitting the breakfast buffet hard. She is very polite and was working very very hard every minute of the morning to keep the buffet stocked. Also, our check in lady was very nice and polite and explained the weird parking situation clearly. I am a Choice Hotels club member and booked as such and I am VERY disappointed that I was not sent a "review your stay" email. I think it's very lame that you can't leave a review on the Choice Hotels web page. I don't think I believe their "verified guest stay reviews." I think maybe Choice Hotels only post the reviews they want to show. Therefore, I strongly suggest you continue to use TripAdvisor to read reviews of hotels. Our stay was just fine as a launch place for our day at Universal Studios. I hope the buffet lady receives some proper praise for doing her job so well.

Guest Safety is Not a High Enough Priority just completed a one week stay with this comfort inn. Please be careful with this hotel - unfortunately their response as a result of my complaint speaks to their greater concern with their bottom line than with the safety of their guests. It pains me to write such a poor review of this hotel. Truthfully, if it were not for the final day of my stay and the end result of trying to simply resolve the issue - this review would look quite different. On the final day of my stay i was just barely on time to leave to get to an extremely important event. I had an Uber waiting and the elevator was busy so I took the stairs down to the bottom floor. It was unclear at the bottom of The stairs which direction i should go - as there were two doors. I took the door on the right which led outside and found myself trapped. There was a large wall surrounding my area, approx 20 feet of bushes to my right that I could not climb through to circumvent it - two doors back inside that were both locked and a locked gate that would lead to the area outside the wall. I panicked being trapped like this and needing to get to my event so I had to climb over the tall gate and hurt my foot on the way down. I called the front desk as I got into the Uber and They said they would have management follow up with me. Two days later I had not heard from anyone so I called and spoke with Allison. She was extremely understanding and kind and I explained that I would prefer to resolve this by clearer signage, a thorough review of emergency exit protocol, and a simple refund of points I spent in that one night's stay in which this happened. She called me back after reaching out to the GM who refused to do or offer anything whatsoever. Unfortunately now, I will be reporting this and providing my pictures tomorrow to the local Los Angeles Fire Department in North Hollywood. I created a case with Choice Hotels and will be reviewing all other options available in regards to this issue. If the hotel was truly concerned with the safety and security of their guests - this would have been easily resolved and changes would be made immediately. God forbid there was a fire and this happened .......if you were there with small kids....an infant perhaps. It makes my foot injury seem so minimal to the greater situation that could occur. I truly wish the general manager cared more to right this situation from all ends on their own. Sadly, this is not the case.

Pool in garage, cars blocked in, with acceptable breakfast & room The positives… The hotel was very clean. The room was adequate and beds comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was convenient and good. The staff were friendly and responsive. The negatives… the pool, the parking, the elevator, and the neighborhood. The advertised swimming pool was tiny and located in the parking garage! There were big windows, making it feel like a fishbowl with everyone driving in and out looking at you. It was extremely awkward and nearly unusable. The online photos are deceiving, not disclosing this strange little pool’s size and location. When searching for a hotel, I filter to look for hotels with a pool. This felt like the pool existed to qualify the hotel for my search, but not really for my family’s enjoyment. It was a big disappointment and my teenage kids didn’t want to swim. The parking garage requires double parking of vehicles, one behind the other. If spots are full and you park behind another car, staff keep your keys and must move your vehicle for others to get out. If they are busy and you are blocked in, you can’t leave until they have time to move the car blocking you. This also wasn’t disclosed when booking. The elevator doesn’t go to the lobby, it goes to the parking garage and you have to walk outside to get back in the lobby where breakfast is served. Finally, the neighborhood doesn’t feel safe at night, with homeless in tents on the sidewalk just outside. I would choose another hotel next time because of these 4 negatives.

Hanging with pops First time in the LA area came for the Super Bowl. I'd liked the fact that this place is away from the hustle and bustle and had parking. Location was good for someone who wanted to wander a bit and wanted to look around. Homeless folks across the way seemed alarming at first but LA has a whole lot of homeless people everywhere. The hotel had hot breakfast clean rooms and friendly staff. I felt very safe with my elderly father and would stay again
