Hotel Northampton

Great Location but room was disappointing. We got the double balcony room. Not worth the money. The room is very drab. The bed is in a bad spot and the A/C vent aims at your face while sleeping. The balcony to the outside is depressing. No planters, flowers or upkeep ( see photos)The other “ balcony” overlooks the atrium but it is claustrophobic and dirty ( see gross stuff dripping down windows)The bathroom had Bobby pins and paper clips left on the floor. Not swept and mopped?? The lobby and common areas are gorgeous but feels like smoking mirrors when you see the actual room. I felt like I overwhelmed the staff when I asked to get an afternoon coffee and sit outside on the almost empty patio (reserved for ordering food)?? We are hotel guests?? Bad policy. The hotel and room has a smoking smell throughout even though they appear to be strict about No Smoking. We may stay here again based on location but choose a different room. The double balcony leaves ALOT to be desired.

Do NOT go to the cafe or the bar This is only for the restaurant, not the hotel. We had one of the worst experiences at the bar and restaurant at the Hotel Northampton. We walked up to a nearly empty bar and the bartender barked "and what do you want?" without looking up at us. As we were ordering, she walked away. She came back and said "well?" We again ordered two simple drinks, and she brought them to us without a word or a smile or any eye contact. She put them on the counter, went back to print our the receipt and tossed it to us from a few feet away. As we walked to the patio with our drinks, she yelled (and I do mean yelled) "where are you going? You can not take any drinks outside." She was so loud the diners in the place all became silent and looked up. The staff member at the front door came over to us, acutely aware of how loud and uncalled for this was. She said we could, in fact, take the drinks outside, but it had to be to a small section of the patio, away from the diners. We followed her instructions only to find that all the chairs in this little section were tethered and bolted to each other and to the tables, so we could not even sit down. When asked about this she said "I said you could use the patio, I didn't say you could sit down." At that point we chugged our drinks standing right there in the dining room, and sat the empties on a stranger's table, and left. Never will set foot in there again.

Wedding Reception We had our wedding reception at this lovely location. The staff was amazing and Ruby was extremely helpful in arranging everything! The food was delicious and our guests enjoyed it as well. The room itself is so beautiful with high ceilings and stunning chandeliers. Would highly recommend!!!

Make a memory while traveling to Western Massachusetts I came to the Hotel Northampton for an extended stay while visiting family in the area. During my stay I was continually struck by the warmth and service of the staff. In each interaction, it felt like they took a genuine interest in making me feel welcome and doing whatever they could to make my stay comfortable. Every time I opened the door to my room, I found housekeeping near by, ready to clean my room or offer extra towels. The front desk staff, Gabby, Grace and the manager Fiona, were friendly and efficient and when time allowed, would share stories with me about their beautiful historic property. I will only stay at the Hotel Northampton whenever I return to the area and I thank them for their hospitality!

Treated like royalty! I booked this hotel for my 26th wedding anniversary because of it's distance to the bike trail. I am SO happy I did! They treated us like royalty! Not only did they upgrade our room to a beautiful suite with a gorgeous balcony, but they left us a bottle of champagne and the cutest home made card. I have NEVER had a hotel treat us as well as this. The room was beautiful, beds were comfy, and I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel with a heated towel rack before either! So many places within walking distance, and the bike trail was right around the corner. I'm so glad we selected this hotel and will definitely be back!!! THANK YOU!!!
