Poor service and maintenence We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The shower in the bathroom was not what we expected. Although we had a spacious bathroom, the water temperature of the shower was completely unpredictable, it would change temperature from optimal to scalding and then cold within seconds. We complained about this to the hotel on 2 separate days, but it remained the same. The room was also not cleaned until the late afternoon (after 3 pm). On two separate occasions, there was no complimentary water until we called. Really not what we had expected.

one of the best hotels I have stayed at My room was beautiful overlooking the lake. The food at all their restaurants are amazing but the best part was the friendliness of the staff and the way you feel so welcome about everything. I took a private tour of city ending with a boat tour around the lake. Breathtaking

Sheer Class and Comfort Stayed here for a wedding. Lovely Hotel in a lovely city. Very central to everything. Lausanne is a beautiful place on the Lac Leman (Lake Geneva). Seems like there are lots of festivals over the summer period too.

Great Location, Horrible Hotel The rooms in this hotel are so outdated. The views from the room were the only thing that made this hotel worth staying at. You have a great view of Lake Geneva. The beds are very old, the bathrooms look like they are from the 1950's and need to be updated. The breakfast is ok at best. If you are location for a hotel that is central to downtown, this is the place, but it is not worth the money you will spend.

Great Location Like most hotels the defining aspect can be the staff and I have always been very impressed with the warm welcome and helpful approach. I stayed here on business between 3-10 nights per month for nearly 2 years. I can't speak for all the rooms as I mostly stayed in the lake-facing rooms with a balcony, all of which were lovely in terms of high ceilings, a feeling of class and the view across the lake and over to Mt Blanc. Sometimes I enjoyed an upgrade to one of the apartments which were very spacious and nicely appointed. I think some have views over the lake and some don't, so try to get a lake view as it is rather splendid. The bathrooms were all spacious but a bit quirky here and there with occasional leaky shower screens and shower heads which didn't always direct the water in the right direction. I think the restaurant may be closed for dinner these days (there is a lot of choice nearby) but the breakfasts were always highly satisfactory. All the staff spoke excellent English. Hotels are rather expensive in Switzerland so you may be shocked from an apparent 'value for money' perspective, but having stayed in many hotels in and near Geneva I was more than happy to keep returning to Beau Rivage.
