Not what we expected The woman who checked us in was abrupt and not at all welcoming. Later, we dealt with Ida who was wonderful. The man who fixed the thermostat and sliding closet was also great. That is why average instead of poor rating!! The hotel is very close to the highway so super noisy, maybe because we were facing it. Breakfast was good. Rooms were typical RI, but no directions for kitchen, or room/hotel information. We won't stay here again with so many other choices in the area....many less costly. We usually choose Marriott as lifetime Elite member, but it seems as if the standards have lowered since the merger.

Dirty and run down The good: The staff was friendly, the parking was free, the location was good, and the size of the room was excellent. The bad: The room was filthy. There was barbeque sauce on the entire handle of the oven and food crumbs in many of the cupboards. The sofa bed had crumbs and trash in it. There was pubic hair in the bathroom. There was star and circle confetti all over the room (on the floor, on the furniture, on the counters, etc.). In normal times such dirtiness would be tough to overlook, but in these Covid times where cleanliness is paramount and hotels claim to scrub and sanitize their rooms, these glaring errors are completely unacceptable. The room looked and felt dirty. In addition to the filthy room, there were issues with items being run down. The blackout shades had significant holes in them making them far less than blackout shades. The bed in one of the bedrooms squeaked with just the slightest movement. The springs were coming out of the mattress on the pullout sofa, and the sofa itself was broken in and was not comfortable to sit on, let alone sleep on. Our family had a pleasant stay at this hotel in October, but the December stay was quite the opposite. We would not recommend this hotel in its current state; however, all the issues are easily correctable.

Extremely disappointing In 20 years of staying in Marriott brands around the world, this property was far below any other. Dark, small and smelly from the lobby to the elevator to the hall to the room. We changed rooms right away and did get one that smelled less of smoke. And too many guests wandering around without masks. Seemed like there were gatherings in the common area. We left after 1 night and went to the Hyatt for the rest of the week. Just shocking really. Anyone we told this to since has been shocked especially as it is in oakbrook.

Be prepared...They sell rooms on the weekend for loud parties and you will be on your own. I still at Marriott properties approximately 50 nights a year. This property has to rate as one of the lowest! Although it is none smoking be prepared for smoker and mj in the hotel. Also, do not plan to sleep on the weekends. The hotel sells room to groups just there to party. If you call the front desk for they call the room but that is where it ends. THE HOTEL WILL NOT HELP TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. BRING EARPLUGS AND CHECK OUT OF THE HOTEL EARLY AND MOVE TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL Book elsewhere and save yourself the stress.

Marriott or No Tell Motel. I came in today to stay for 3 days on business. I walked to the elevator which smelled like weed. My hallway smelled like weed. I got in the room and showered and headed straight to the project I am on in Elmhurst. When I came back to the room it was hot. The AC was not working. I talked to the lady up front and she was very friendly but told me maintenance was gone for the night and suggested I open a window until tomorrow. The problem is that I am facing a bright light and it is raining outside. She tried to explain why the ac might have frozen, none of which was valid and told me to basically suck it up til tomorrow, but very nicely. Then I try and watch TV. The TV’s are old and this property has ONE movie channel. ONE! Even some of the crappiest hotels I have been in has more than that. I am a Diamond member with Hilton and stopped using them because of the lack of uniform amenities. I am a platinum member with Marriott and will be a titanium member by the end of November. However, I may rethink Marriott if they cannot make their independent owners more accountable to the standard set by Marriott. If this is a company owned hotel, they should be embarrassed.
