Absolutely Pleasurable The stay was absolutely pleasurable. The staff was more than accommodating and helpful. I would assuredly visit and stay with this location in the future! Upon arrival, I received a nifty sheet with local restaurants, bars, and other attractions. The staff had a fire alarm issue when I arrived, but overly accommodated for the slight inconvenience. Regardless of that, the staff wasn't overbearing, such as I've seen with other establishments.

Worst customer service ever I booked a room here only to find out come morning that I booked it for the wrong day. I travel to oakland for my chemo and stay overnight cuz I don't feel well enough to drive home they refused to change my day and refused to give a refund stating the night staff already checked me into my room when I never showed up

Nothing special Decent hotel in a convenient location, albeit a bit old and worn down. The walls are very poorly sound-proofed and I had to call the front desk to break up a loud party late at night in the adjacent room in order to sleep at all. To their credit the staff was prompt about taking care of that and there weren't any other major issues.

Rude manager I normally have a great experience at Marriotts and even though the rooms were outdated at this particular one my stay was just fine. Unfortunately, 3 weeks after I checked out I was charged again for things I was already charged for during my stay and was paid for. I explained the situation to the manager and she was extremely rude and passive when I explained I could email a picture of the charge. I will continue to stay at Marriotts but not this one.

Awful hotel, unimpressed by staff response I stay in hotels ~100 nights/year, and I very rarely have negative experiences, especially in Marriotts. This was an exception however. First off, I don't think this hotel physically is up to the standards of Marriott or the courtyard brand. The rooms are outdated and the whole hotel feels dirty. The walls are paper thin, to the point that I felt uncomfortable calling the front desk to complain about the room next door for fear that they would hear me. The first room I was given had a bad, strong odor. I asked to switch rooms, and the staff was very accommodating and gave me what was apparently the last open room at the hotel. The room was fine, but when I returned from dinner it reeked of cigarette smoke. It sounded like there was a party going on next door, with loud music and people constantly going in and out of the room. I had a cold which was very negativity affected by the smoke. Like I said above, I felt uncomfortable calling the front desk because the walls were so thin I thought they'd hear, so I went down to the front desk to complain about the smoke. The front desk attendant said other people had complained about the smoke and that security was trying to solve it. However, there did not seem to be any immediate action taken, and I could continue to smell smoke coming through the adjoining the door for hours after I went down. I considered asking to just leave and switch hotels (since this was the last available room), but I was tired from traveling and just went to sleep. I am not sure if any action was ever taken against the people smoking but when I woke up in the morning my clothes smelled like smoke. This was an unacceptable experience. I will certainly not return to the courtyard Oakland, but it has caused me to question Marriott's standards in general. I am not sure why the hotel was unable to swiftly unwilling to address the situation, but I think that smoking in the hotel is a red line which requires a stronger response by both the hotel and Marriott.
