Hazardous environment and an even more toxic manager. When I first found this property on Expedia, I looked amongst the rooms to choose from and thought I had found a killer deal for a great price, but the price was not worth dealing with the disrespectful attitude, arrogance, and narcissistic behavior , verbally aggressive, and treats the people staying at the hotel, including myself and my family members who were staying here from out of town as if he wishes they were not here at all. The manager lives here, and works here and is abusing authorative Power by using the guests fear of being kicked out or not getting their deposit back, against them by making you endure the foul treatment provided by the manager. I’ve seen and known some people who stayed in some pretty bad hotels, If you would like to receive better service, room service, and a good experience from the place you choose to stay, after I told my friends my experience they said I could’ve gotten all of those if I had stayed in a motel 6, other than being here. The room had broken outlets, burn holes in the sheets of a bed in a non smoking room, and the AC smells like it’s burning, alongside the holes in the screens of the windows. Hazardous environment and an even more toxic manager.

Ugh. The two crackheads/methheads in room 105 right next two us in a room that unfortunately had a door in the wall so you could hear everything in either room had two dogs with them. The dogs were not the problem. They'd occasionally bark and whine and make dog noises, but the real problem was the guy yelling "shut up! Shut the $&*# up!" At them from 8pm to 4am solid. Then there was the smoking of cigarettes they were doing that crept under the door and set off the smoke detector in their room at 1am. Then there was the no less than four different randos coming into their room between 11pm and 3am. Loud doors, loud voices. Then there was the fact that when I finally broke down at 4am and went to my car to call the closed office to complain, there was no voice mail to leave a message. No one at the desk to handle things at night. My fiancé starts a brand new job at 7am. He has roughly one hour to try and get some sleep. Our room reeks of smoke. I will be pursuing a full refund. At some points I almost called the police. Fairly certain they were selling either drugs or a** all night. The roach on my laptop at 5am was just the cherry on top.

Dishonest and disgusting. The room was so disgusting. The carpet was so dirty. The smell was overwhelming like a dirty wet dog. My card wasn’t working so I did half cash half card for the deposit, and the guy did not return my deposit. I called when I noticed the whole amount didn’t post to my card. He said he would mail me the cash… yeah right. He kept my $60 for himself I’m sure. Dishonest and disgusting.

Our room was so outdated, it stunk, and the carpet was disgusting! Don’t fall for the pictures! My husband and I have been staying in this hotel once or twice a year for the last 15 years. In early September 2023, we had a room overlooking the parking lot/harbor slips. We stayed for three nights. The hotel has no air conditioning. The weekend was exceptionally hot so we had a fan in the room which was very dirty and loud. The couch and carpet in the entire unit was filthy and stunk like urine, beer and cigarettes. The living room had no lamp. We relied on the overhead, outdated, ceiling fixture over the dining table for light. The bedroom made you feel you were in prison. All walls and doors were stark white and not one piece of artwork on any wall. The bathroom was dirty and the shower/bathtub had black mold in the calking. The drawers and cabinets had spider webs in them. The hairdryer wall unit had broken off of the wall and was shoved in a drawer not reinstalled. There were no fire sprinklers or carbon monoxide alarm fixtures. There appeared to be one smoke alarm on the hall wall (not on the ceiling ?). Don’t know if it was working. We lived nearby in Carlsbad for years so we come back to this area often. We have seen a steady decline of this property over the last four or five years. We were disappointed to see just how far down it has slipped. We will not be returning. It was a total waste of our hard earned dollars. They charge a high rate for such a low quality room ……. hardly a “suite”.

Worst hotel ever!! Worst hotel ever, the whole room was not cleaned, it smelt like mold. There was blood on the wall, the door frames were ripped up. One worker took a picture of our card and made charges to our card. There were cockroaches and bugs. Do not book here.
