Blue Iguana Inn

Lovely place, but no food options on site or nearby Stayed here while visiting family for the Fourth of July, and fun parade in Ojai. Lovely place to stay, beautiful setting, very clean and well-appointed rooms, but a little noisy outside my unit due to street traffic. Great to have a toaster, hot water kettle, small fridge, and coffee maker in the room. But not walking distance to any groceries or restaurants, so be prepared.

Relaxing, comfortable, old-California feel made this the highlight of our visit to Ojai. Highly recommended! As we drove into the Blue Iguana Inn courtyard, we immediately fell in love with the early Californian/Mexican architecture and design. It was rustic and authentic (not fake/new), charming and inviting. We were warmly greeted at the front desk and given a very helpful orientation to the property and all the many amenities. We used the beautiful pool and sitting area, including hot tub, all surrounded by flourishing plants and flowers. Hints of the namesake Blue Iguana could be seen in several mosaic statues/pieces. There were lovely sitting spaces throughout, some in the open, some tucked away, including a 3rd floor/rooftop spot with a good view. Each room had an outdoor sitting arrangement and some had full-sized dining tables and chairs. The rooms were spread over several smaller buildings, much nicer than one long stretch of room after room. Our family of 4 stayed quite comfortably in a 2 BR Bungalow; 2 separate bedrooms, 1 large bathroom, living room, full-sized and equipped kitchen, both indoor and outdoor dining tables, a couple of lounge chairs in our private patio and an adjoining small grassy area. Clay tile floors, rustic old-California decor, very comfy beds, complimentary in-room coffee and tea, internet, TVs all combined to make our stay so enjoyable and relaxing that we all collectively vowed to return and stay longer. Seek out the Blue Iguana Inn; even better for your next group or family stay.

Very cool. Very nice. Way exceeded my expectations. Had a great lower King room with a patio. Very hip and funky place. Hosts could not do enough. Spotless, charming room, very well equipped with fridge, microwave, kitchen utensils, plates, even wine glasses.

Lovely anniversary getaway We celebrated our anniversary here, and loved the cozy king balcony suite (Room 8). Loved being the only room upstairs and the view of the pool area. The jacuzzi was amazing! The hotel grounds are beautiful- it feels like you’re in a Spanish village. The kitchenette allowed us to fix a few meals in the room, and we added the continental breakfast basket to our stay. For $20, it had enough food for all three mornings! Hotel staff was friendly and responsive. A minor maintenance issue was addressed immediately. A few minor drawbacks - Ojai Ave/150 traffic noise is definitely noticeable during the day around the pool area and from front facing rooms, but it does drop off completely by about 6pm. And there is a dog that must live in a neighboring home, and it barked a lot! A personal preference item - the tvs are old and small, with no streaming service options. But we would definitely consider staying here again!

Stay at the Blue Iguana!! What a marvelous and magical place the Blue Iguana is! (and we walked around their sister property, the Emerald Iguana, and WOW!). Our experience at the Blue Iguana was a 10 in every regard...the setting, decor, comfy bed, pool and jacuzzi, the staff, etc.
