Beautiful location, dated, no housekeeping, but I still enjoyed my room. The location is beautiful! Our bed was comfortable and the jetted tub felt great. Our room was big and had an amazing view. But...... room was pretty dusty and housekeeping did not service our room once in the three nights we stayed. We had to walk over to the front desk to get shampoo and towels. It felt a bit ghetto.....like they were counting how many shampoos were given to each guest. Ive never felt so put out for clean towels. Lol, anyway it was a minor inconvenience, most of the staff were friendly however some of the front desk staff seemed extremely agitated and stressed out. I can only imagine what they go through on a day to day basis. Well I enjoyed my stay, but I'd give it a 50/50 chance you'll love it or hate it.....maybe just bring some cleaning wipes in case.

Disappointed Don't like that you can't pay cash when you check in. You can pay when you check out. When I leave the last thing I want to do is go back in to pay. Plus trying to do less contact with everything that is going on.

In These Challenging Times, Consider Staying Elsewhere We booked this location because we have had nothing but positive experiences at other Red Lion Hotels and these hotels are even often preferred status with those who work for government related roles. However, this location was a poor choice for our family. We were initially excited when we checked in - the people in the evening were kind and we received an upgrade to a room with a jetted bathtub. The room itself, however, had not appeared to be fully cleaned - a suspicion that was confirmed in greater depth the next morning. The floors were sticky and felt frightening to be barefoot on. At first, we attributed this to some cleansers have that effect. Once we sat down at the small table in the room, we could see actual dirt in every corner of that sitting space next to the bed. From this angle we could also see the spots on the floor likely left by the last guests where it was sticky! I wipe everything down in hotels these days but my God... When we decided to use the bathtub late at night, we were greeted by either a long beard hair or a curly pubic hair that did not belong to us in the tub. I then proceeded to fill the tub and run the jets with soap without using the tub because I suspected it was not properly cleaned. I'm glad I listened to my intuition - bits of black dirt immediately filled the tub but worse yet, large flecks of someone's gold and pink nail polish chips in rather large chunks were floating in there! Needless to say, it was a shower-only kind of stay after seeing that. The next morning, we went to have breakfast in town and witnessed the cleaning crew hard at work. Apparently, Hotel RL's "COVID-protocols" include using the same nasty washcloth to wipe down god-knows-how-many rooms! As someone who once caught the flu pre-pandemic due to this type of unsanitary "cleaning" practice, I was horrified (and relieved that I had basically cleaned the sinks, etc. before we used our room just on a hunch). A restaurant in town messed up our order so we were in danger of being exactly 2 minutes late for check-out. To prevent any issue, we tried to call the front desk to let them know of the situation. The front desk attendant cut my husband off before he could even finish speaking and say "You CANNOT have a late check out. Look, we are at capacity and have to turn these rooms around and you have to get out." I interjected that we were not looking to stay but that we were due to arrive literally 2 minutes past check-out and needed to take our belongings to our room and she stated that this was fine. However, when we arrived back at our room at 11:02 (it probably took an extra 2 minutes to walk from the parking lot to our room), we were in a panic due to the way we had been treated and were moving FAST when all of a sudden there was a pounding on our door. I frantically searched for my mask and told the person I needed to grab it before I opened the door, she KEPT beating on the door anyway. I answered and she said "You're late for check out. What is going on?" in almost the nastiest way possible. My child was nearly in tears because we did not get to swim (a blessing in disguise if it was anywhere near as gross as everything else) she kind of sneered at him in a complete lack of empathy and said "Well, I guess it looks like you are in the process of leaving." The front desk clerk had not bothered to notify this woman that we had called ahead and were just getting our belongings! She made a mark on her sheet and went to the next room to greet them in a similar fashion, no doubt. We ended up accidentally leaving a $100 latex pillow behind in the panic these people created. On my way up to drop off the key and definitely get a receipt so that I could make notes for this review and not be thinking about it during the rest of our first vacation in over a year, the clerk upstairs was on the phone. She was talking to someone about a family who had not responded to her phone call about check-out. She stated they tried to call two times before sending an employee to try to FORCE THEIR WAY INTO THAT FAMILY'S ROOM but the family's latch was engaged so they were debating whether or not to call the police on them! For a being 15 minutes late to check out! Terrifying. As an attorney, I can respect that there are rules, hence the reason we called immediately upon seeing that we would be 2 minutes late ourselves but I could not fathom how stressed the morning crew must be to act so abrasively to guests. Literally night and day - maybe have the night folks train the morning crew on how to just be basically professional. Do yourself a favor, select another hotel. Many hotels in the area have a noon check-out and do not behave in such a manner towards guests and families. This place looks ok from the outside but it is far from ok on the inside. I felt bad for the folks who were behind me in line trying to come and check-in early. The husband had thought they booked a much higher quality hotel and the wife with her eyes and ears could understand what they were in for!

Cold showers! Checking in at 10:30pm, the two desk clerks were discussing a customer’s request to change rooms. They said that wasn’t going to happen. I asked if the hotel was full, and their answer was that the hotel was not full but staff shortage meant they could get as many rooms cleaned and ready for use. I get it; manpower shortages are affecting every industry. The room was HUGE, and the bed very comfortable. However, my wife wanted to take a shower at 11pm. The water never got hot; never got warm. After 10 minutes the water was finally not too cold to shower. The next morning I took a shower. After 8 minutes the water at a point that I could get in the shower, but it wasn’t warm. Even with the bathroom door closed the mirror didn’t fog up. I mentioned this to the lady at the desk, and was told these things happen when the hotel was full. Never happened to us before in 40 years of travel.
